Why do we just have our fight song on this web-site? Why not Glory to the Green and White?

It's really great to be reminded that we have a little extra in the bank for down the road.

I would have said something to them. If they didn't like what I said, then I would have taken it to the next level with RV.

....and the night before the game our coach joked to an alumni gathering that Dr. B. should keep in mind that we are getting a 1/2 mil for the game when she looks up at the scoreboard at the end of the game. I didn't laugh at the joke.

One coach, Florida Atlantic's Howard Schnellenberger, said Dodge's hiring won't necessarily spark a trend of high school coaches moving to Division I-A colleges. (Gerry Faust's infamous Notre Dame tenure probably took care of that.) But those like Dodge, who hired four assistants from the high school ranks, perhaps could take jobs from established college assistants, Schnellenberger said. Before commenting, Schnellenberger had to be reminded which Sun Belt team Dodge coached. He sure waves his Alzheimers flag proudly. But those like Dodge, who hired four assistants from the high school ranks, perhaps could take jobs from established college assistants, Schnellenberger said. Good grief, he sounds like an "old school" Union leader. Besides, unless you identify an "up and coming coach" most college assistants (with good college experience) would not want to come to North Texas. And if they were "up and comers", they would leave after a year anyway. I think that Coach Dodge has surrounded himself with very capable, and loyal coaches. Having assistant coaches coming and going all the time is not conducive to building a new program. Sun Belt commissioner Wright Waters "had never heard of" Dodge when he was hired at UNT. Hmmm, I'm sure that before he was hired, Todd Dodge had never heard of Wright Waters. Let's see, if you polled all the coaches in Texas (HS and College) I wonder how many of them would know Wright Waters and how many would know Todd Dodge. I still don't like the "alternate" list of coaches that were our fall-back had Todd Dodge turned us down. Harbaugh is now at Stanford, so he really never was a candidate, and I still believe that Cauthern (West Texas A$M) would have been a much better selection than the Nebraska assistant. -
I think that everyone who is making predictions of a high score by OU is forgetting that our defense is the strength of the team, and OU is starting a QB that hasn't taken a snap in a regular game.

Our building site is much easier to get to than either Ford Stadium or the new Cowboy stadium. Plus, you don't have to tear anything down (like Fprd stadium) before you start building. So, in theory, our project should be completed in a very timely manner once it gets started.

Damn! They had two post-game interviews with Pitt. State players, and they both could actually speak in complete sentences. I don't recall once hearding their sentences punctuated with "Ya' know, "Like", uh (or "Uh like") or "Yo". Amazing.

I don't find this lame at all. Lame is watching pre-packaged-over-analyzed-big-time football. If I had known that it was going to be on, I would have turned in. I like watching the more obscure schools play. The Gorillas vs the Lions. sounds like a good match-up to me.

What I'm looking for as much as anything else is an attitude change. If I see another NT team quit like the 04 team did in the Texas game, then I'm going to be seriously disappointed. Oklahoma may get some big plays on us, but what I want to see is the defense lining up the next series and saying "OK bring it on, give us your next best shot". OH, and my HSO.... expect D. Cox to get more carries then J-Mo this year. Even with a healthy J-Mo. I am just sayin'. That wouldn't surprise me if Mr. Cox is healthy. I know that there have been various reasons presented for J-Mo not being able to come close to duplicating his freshman performance. Most of them are probably valid. But from what I've observed, he hasn't run the same since he took that huge hit from the So. Miss defense before half-time in the 04 NO Bowl.

For $1800, I would expect to be able to view the scrimmage at Fouts from my home in Fort Worth. Keep in mind that the defense is always way ahead of the offense at this time of year. Plus our defense knows just about everything that our offense is going to do. There are no surprises.

I'm up for that. Plus, I like to grill my own fajita's (chicken and pork only), so I may bring some of that up to cook this year.

Curious What Everyone Would Like To See

Mmmmmmmm, I always try to set-up right by my old friend Chad.

Absolutely!

It's not that much smaller than Peachy at 279, and it's much better than the 235 he was listed as in the official roster.

I can't remember, did Mr. Cox practice during the spring? If so, wasn't he slowed by an injury? I think that three things are going on. 1. Mr. Cox is healthy again, and everyone's forgotten how good he was when he was healthy. 2. Mosley is better than everyone thought he would be. 3. Mr. Montgomery may have leveled off in his development.

I am so happy that Josh is going to continue to contribute to this program. This is great news!

This time FFR and I will be carrying our ponchos with us instead of leaving them in the bus.

First of all, I want to say how impressed I am with how physically and (more importantly) emotionally resilient Daniel must be. He has spent his whole career here running for his life, getting beat up by opponents, getting (emotionally) beat up by North Texas fans, and finally getting (IMHO) absolutely no help or any sort of insight from the coaching staff. From what I can observe, his reponse to the recent coaching change has been to work even harder, seek their help and/or insight, and never complain. I once had a Education Dept professor tell the class that I was in that the North Texas latin motto "Eundo Cresit, or Cresit Eundo" translated into modern vernacular as "Keep on Keepin' on". I think that Daniel is a fine example of that motto. Way to go Daniel! I hope the rest of the team follows your example.

Think about it folks. Other than tailgating, this is one of the few times when you can talk North Texas football all you want, and nobody will make fun of you, or roll their eyes. .....well, most of the time anyway.
