  1. All I can say is that if I were one of the employees of the Athletic department in charge of getting donations for the stadium, I've be sitting at my desk right now doing a face palm....with both hands.
  2. I didn't know that Houston was our rival. In fact, I didn't know that we had any rivals.
  3. As far as the Wal-Mart in my neighborhood. The tailgating gear (chairs, coolers, tents) is UT, A$M and Cowboys. You can also get a good selection of Boswell HS and Saginaw HS t-shirts, hats, and sweats. There is also the occasional TCU hat, but I don't remember seeing any shirts or sweats.
  4. But you never utter the name of a conservative when you're handing out blame..... only Democrats.
  5. You're right, this is a strange place to ask the question. Were Darwin and his contemporary both students/minions of a particular scientist/philosopher of that time? I can't remember what sparked Darwins interest in doing his research. BTW, good choice of shows. My wife and I both like Fringe.
  6. But it was still Mr. Conservative values idea!
  7. I believe that I was on point. And are you somehow blaming the Democrats for this? My point is that welfare is welfare. Individual or corporate. Before you start splattering all this on the Obama administration, look at all of the corporate welfare (Halliburton is one example) that's been handed out by Alfred E. Newman and Lord Vader Cheny.
  8. I'm sorry, but what administration was it that pushed for checks to be sent out this last time? And what administration is it that is currently making noise to do the same? And as I recall, you didn't get one of those checks unless you paid taxes. And while I would be very distressed to see checks go the the young men that you described in your story, I wouldn't see it as being much different than the current administration creating a situation where Halliburton (thanks to Lord Vader Cheny) got their welfare checks.....and probably still do.
  9. Well, the irony of that statement is that if everyone (especially the BCS fan base) took his advise, all of those "big time" schools would be having turnouts (and cash flow) like.....well.....North Texas. And Coaches like him wouldn't have million dollar pay checks. So he can feel put-upon by all those bloggers and fans yelling at him, but as I'm very fond of saying, "I'm about as sympathetic to the problems of the rich, as I am to the problems of the skinny".......
  10. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/...-in-california/ Is CNN reliable enough for you. This is the last part of the article. "African-Americans voted for Proposition 8 by a 69 percent to 31 percent margin. However, 55 percent of white voters and 52 percent of Hispanics voted against the proposition."
  11. What's happend to Draylen Ross?
  12. No, it means that the minority community, specifically the African-American community, is statistically more homophobic than the white community. I haven't seen any statistics about the hispanic community.
  13. IGLA no longer holds consultative status in the UN, and hasn't since 1994.
  14. Since you seem to think that I conveniently ignore terms and words, you just keep ignoring the key term that I presented "adult orientation". Man-boy sex [b]is not an adult sexual orientation. It is pedophilia....with is completely different.
  15. Homosexuality is an adult orientation. Adult males attracted to adult males, and adult females attracted to adult females. The sexual attraction to children (male or female....or both) by an adult, is pedophilia.....not homosexuality. These are facts.
  16. And here is another view of this whole financial situation. Read it to the end, because there is a very interesting comment there. http://www.star-telegram.com/ed_wallace/story/1040507.html
  17. I know what NAMBLA stands for, that's why I objected to it being included with homosexual support groups. Man-Boy sex is pedophilia, not homosexuality. That's why all those priests that have had sex with alter boys etc are called pedophiles, and not homosexuals.
  18. First Briles leaves Houston (after getting that program going) and brings Baylor back to life....in only his FIRST YEAR. And now UH is kicking Tulsa's ass with THEIR FIRST YEAR HEAD COACH. Whoever is making the decisions about hiring head coaches down at Houston needs to tutor our administrators. And BTW, does anyone know if Sumlin was interested in our HC opening two years ago?
  19. I take exception to NAMBLA being included with gay/lesbian support groups. NAMBLA is a group started by pedophiles who advocate that children should be able to make their own decisions about having sex. Homosexuals are not pedophiles. Pedophiles are people that are sexually attracted to pre-pubescent children (male or female). Most of them don't care about the gender...although a great many target boys. A friend of mine was an investigator for CPS, and his specialty was sexual abuse investigations. After he got one offender to confess (the man had been targeting children in the 8-10 year old range), he asked the offender why he didn't seem to care if he was victimizing boys or girls. The offender's resonse was "Hell, when you flip them over on their stomachs, they all look the same to me".
  20. Some transfer in January, and some (because of their academic situation) can't transfer until fall. All I'm saying is that the ideal situation would be to land some impact JC players that can transfer in the spring. And the biggest impact needs to be in the DL.
  21. As I say every year. The ideal situation would be for the JC player to transfer at mid-term and participate in spring drills. That way they have a better chance to actually make an impact early in the season.
  22. And who's responsibility is it to fill the independent monitoring posts? If it was left to the Bush administration, then I'm not surprised that no monitors have been appointed. Actually I wouldn't be surprised in either situation. Wouldn't the first order of business in this bailout be to appoint the independent monitors?
  23. So true. AND, I have to wonder how many of the aforementioned micromanaged employees will continue to tolerate the situation.
  24. "Joseph L. Galloway is a military columnist for McClatchy Newspapers and a former senior military correspondent for Knight Ridder Newspapers. He is co-author of the national best-seller "We Were Soldiers Once ... and Young." http://www.montereyherald.com/opinion/ci_10954390
  25. Marriage is basically a contract between two consenting adults. If two people of the same sex want to enter into this contract, I don't see why not. If they are tax paying citizens, they should have the right to the same civil marriage ceremonies as anyone else. If you think it's an abomination, then don't attend the ceremony. The only problem I have with polygamy is when it involves underaged girls being "coerced" into the "group marriage". IMHO, what is being practiced in the twin towns of Colorado City Arizona, and Hildale Utah, is more like institutionalized pedophilia than polygamy. If a group of consenting adults want to enter into a group marriage agreement that's their business. I remember reading years ago about a polygamist marriage in Utah (it wasn't official) and in the group of women who were part of the "marriage" there was one female attorney, and one female doctor. I assumed that both of them were certainly smart enough to "consent". Statistically, children adopted by gay couples are just as emotionally healthy as children who are raised by straight couples.
