  1. Since he retired and I assume he has been drawing teacher retirement pay, I guess that this means that Coach Moore will now be double-dipping.
  2. Emmitt, Emmitt Emmitt. Didn't you know that the people that created the "Amercia, Love it or Leave it" bumper stickers didn't mean Democratic administrations.
  3. Interesting read. http://www.star-telegram.com/ed_wallace/story/1243720.html
  4. Excuse me but marketing IS the problem. Otherwise the Dallas Cowboys (winner of five superbowls) wouldn't feel the need to advertise/market their product. Yet they do! I know we are talking about two different teams here, but we are also talking about a "culture" at North Texas that takes CONSTANT ATTENTION to change. The athletic "culture" at North Texas is like a child that was raised from birth to feel bad about themselves. At five they are given to new parents who are very positive people. That child will not change it's mind about itself overnight simply because they are in a better situation. They must be re-parented (in a positive way of course) EVERY DAY.....MAKE THAT SERVERAL TIMES EVERY DAY.....in some cases ALMOST EVERY HOUR OF EVERY DAY, for YEARS before they begin to change their view of themselves......and sometime even after that they still have residual negative feeling about themselves. The North Texas "culture" was formed a long time ago by the Dr. Bruces and Dr. Matthews of our family. It's going to take a lot of RE-PARENTING to turn it around. So we must make POSITIVE contact with our new children on a regular basis in order to avoid these situations in the future.
  5. I totally agree with Casey F. being compared to Wes Welker. Good call Coach Dodge.
  6. "Instead of a megaresort with water parks and castles, Prosper has more modest economic goals. "We just want a grocery store," Tolleson said." Now there is a good mayor.
  7. I totally agree. Personally I think that someone should be banned from this forum for making fun of how someone physically looks. What they're wearing is a different matter. You know, like when the director of the MGC showed up to official events and rarely wore anything green.....or anything that said North Texas or Mean Green on it.
  8. It was the 1977 Mississippi game....which we only lost 15-17 on the field. And then a few years later our brilliant administrators (bless their clueless hearts) hired the same coach that got Miss St. into trouble,... Bob Tyler. We could have had Corky Nelson a year earlier than we did (he originally applied for the job when Tyler did) BUT (in his best John Belushi voice) NOOOOOOOOOOO........ they had to have Bob freak'in Tyler.
  9. When is the first scrimmage at Fouts? I believe that that is the only one that us fans can attend.
  10. I agree with a guy who called the ticket (musers show) and basically said "Owens wouldn't have been a problem if Romo had just done what he is supposed to do and told him (TO) to sit down and shut up". If you are a leader (as the QB is supposed to be) it doesn't matter if you are talking to an all-pro or a rookie......you are supposed to be the leader! Tell them to shut the hell up! I can't image either Roger Staubach or Troy Aikman (or Danny White for that matter) putting up with TO's BS. I also can't imagine Tom Landry, or Jimmy Johnson putting up with him.
  11. Yes, I bought a 6-pack and all but one are gone. It's smoother than their usual dark beer, and not too heavy, but it's still just a bit too hoppy (ie?) for me. Beware, it's also 6.7%alc by volume....and it feels like it.
  12. Since Brandon Jackson was brought in by a coach known for his running games and boring offense, I find it very ironic that our (alleged) pass master coach is implying that he (Jackson) was probably better than any of his recruits.
  13. Perhaps this high-end development is just the thing to inspire another big company to make a big committment to the stadium.
  14. Well that should do it then! Because if she has any sense of humanity she will make sure that the bill will move along in a timely manner. So that us poor North Texas fans don't have to attend football games in such a crappy venue any longer than necessary.
  15. I hope ol' Chad is at least about 6'6". I thought that "he's a joy to have around" was kind of an odd statement.
  16. I hope so too. But until such time as he IS eligible, then any catch he makes this spring is basically meaningless...............except that it would represent a "rep" that an "eligible" receiver could be making.
  17. ...but not as much as they hate people from California.
  18. Well, if he is a socialist, he took the conservative side in both of his appearances and was just as arrogant about his stance as Rush Limbaugh, or Ann Coulter could ever have been.
  19. I too am looking forward to seeing how Chase Baine does. I'm always pulling for the underdog.
  20. He's had Ann Coulter, Bill O'Reily and Christopher Hitchens on his show more than once. I wouldn't call any of these three people spineless. Bill Maher is going to debate Ann Coulter at the Chicago Theatre on March 11th.
  21. ....and insightful humor at that. This guy at least gets conservatives to come on his show and debate with him. You never see people like Rush Limbaugh (that fat prescription abusing hypocrite) do the same thing.
  22. WOULD PEOPLE PLEASE STOP MAKING VITO THE BAD GUY! He is a PROFESSIONAL REPORTER NOT THE SID FOR NORTH TEXAS. Geezz, we're acting like a bunch of unshaven, knuckle-dragging rubes instead of COLLEGE GRADUATES. Do all of you have your job assessments done by your wives/girlfriends......or drinking buddies? If Vito wants to survive as a professional reporter, he has to NOT BE SOME PROGRAM'S CHEERLEADER. Having said that, I would move the #1 item on the list to around three or four. I would put all of the defensive questions at the top. IMHO, they are much more critical at this point. AND, obviously he doesn't see the RB position as being critical enough to be mentioned. He either thinks it's pretty solid, or he just overlooked it.
  23. This Bill..... 2-27-09 New Rules. I could do without the shot at Captain Sullenburger, but this is one of his better ones.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-GOR7D2tsY
  24. And, finally, New Rule: Stop pretending that other governments have nothing to teach us. From those socialists in Sweden, we can learn how to fix a banking crisis. And from our friends in China, we can learn how to punish the jerks who caused it. You know, the ones who took bailout money and bought private jets made out of rubies and veal. This is Dick Fuld of Lehman Brothers. [slide of Fuld] What a "dick" Fuld. He personally made $500 million in sub-prime mortgages, and he gets to keep it while you and I pay off his bad bets. [slide of Madoff] This is Bernie Madoff. Bernie stole $50 billion, mostly from other Jews. For Jews, this was the worst pyramid scheme since the actual pyramids. Which brings me back to China. Now, a couple months ago, some greedy businessmen in China were caught spiking the milk they sold to children with melamine, a plastic-derivative which boosted the protein levels and, thus, their profits. Well, you know what the Chinese are doing to the businessmen behind their milk scandal? They're putting them to death. Talk about lactose intolerant. Now, am I saying we should treat the bankers who poisoned our financial markets with tainted investments the way China treated its poisoners? Please, we're not China. We're just owned by China. So, no, I don't think we should put all the bankers to death. Just two. I mean, maybe it's not technically legal, but, let's look at the upside. If we killed two random, rich, greedy pigs. I mean, killed. Like, blew them up at halftime at next year's Super Bowl. Or left them hanging on the big board at the New York Stock Exchange. You know, as a warning, with their balls in their mouth. I think it would really make everyone else sit up and take notice. This crisis is rooted in greed. And if two deaths shocked a society of 300 million into acting decently enough to avoid this in the future, well, they'd die as heroes. And, you know, it's not like collateral damage isn't built into our assessment of things. Cars kill almost 50,000 people a year, but we accept that as a fair price for being able to get around without riding on top of an animal. So, two dead bankers really starts to look like a bargain. And isn't that what they love? Bargains?
