OK, a bit over the top. And for this board...somewhat uncalled for. I wouldn't know what they "do first" in a socialist country, since I've never lived in one. This notion that the government is going to go house to house and take your guns is pure bullshit. If the govenment was inclined to do that, it would have done so during the Clinton Administration, when there (rightly) WAS a ban on assault-type weapons. No one has any business (other than the aforementioned fantacies of shooting people) owning any assault-type weapons. Hoarding ammo and assault-type weapons is only going to benefit the makers of guns and ammo. I wouldn't be surprised if they were the ones behind all the hysterical blogs about Obama and (alleged) gun control. I'm sorry, but I thought that the average person was having a hard time paying their mortgages and buying the essentials for their families. Of course, the dimwitted do have their own priorities, and there are obviously plenty of people out there ready to exploit their lack of reasoning abilites. One of my former supervisors (a Major in the Army) used to advise people that the ideal weapon for home defense is a legal sawed-off shotgun...like this... http://www.winchesterguns.com/prodinfo/cat...52&cat=021C

Rudy, you are in the law enforcement business, so I would expect you to own a gun. The person of color that you brought up was probably just humoring you. I still say, wanting to own assault-type rifles and/or Barrett 50 cal snipers rifles = fantacies of shooting people. There is no other reason to want to own them.

I Think That There Is A Negative Piece About Dr B Coming On
SilverEagle replied to stebo's topic in Mean Green Football
Hmmm, I don't know about the sod roof, but the rest sounds interesting. It would be great pub for our University. Does anyone know why the former President's house became so unacceptable to President Vandiver? -
http://www.star-telegram.com/242/story/1339549.html I agree with Bob Ray. The gun owners are much more scary to me than any possible spectre of government gun police coming to take our guns. To me, all this hysteria is just an excuse for dimwitted gun owners to rationalize the realization of their fondest fantasy; which is to shoot someone....ideally someone of color. There can be no other reason for owning an assault-type weapon. Or for that matter, one of these.... http://www.barrettrifles.com/.

Swine-avian-human Flu
SilverEagle replied to eulesseagle's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Is this a self-portrait?......... I think the ears/antennae are a nice touch. If I could find some green foil, this give me an idea for a new look this fall. On a personal note, my wife came down with swine flu during the last outbreak back in 1976. It was the sickest that she's ever been. She was "bed sick" for almost two weeks. Her grandfather died from the flu in the 1918 pandemic. -
Bingo! The first sell out EVER at Fouts was when we were 1-AA and playing SFA (1989). Three things were going on. 1.Both teams were nationally ranked. 2. There was a conference title at stake. 3. We had an outstanding promotions guy working in the athletic department......who was/is a North Texas alum. Oh, and I'll add #4. The year before (1988), we had beaten some D-1 schools that got the attention of the general public. In other words, we had won some games that amounted to something. Did I mention that we were 1-AA at the time.

I Think That There Is A Negative Piece About Dr B Coming On

Simple answer as to why the negative story. It's sweeps week, and probably some disgruntled prof (or former prof) gave the reporter a "heads-up" about an easy sensational story. -

I'm On A Mission For The First Tailgate Next Year

I totally agree with you on that. I grew up where people put ketchup on just about everything.....but not hot dogs. -
Oh I'm well aware that the "W" is not in the white house any longer. It's what puts a smile on my face every day.......while I'm sipping that fine wine and celebrating that America put one if it's finest back in charge. BTW, I'm going to remember this (your irrational time-line for change) the next time you are critical of people over on the football board for not giving Coach Dodge more time to get his program going. So far, it's been two years and what is his record? Meanwhile the stock market is back up to over 8000.

Well since we are making a list. How about not giving women the right to vote until well into the 20th century. My mother, as a married woman, was not allowed to take out a loan in her own name until the late 60's. Obama is not appologizing for everything, just what we are responsible for. It's called being a grown up. Going around and trying to force our will and way of life on the rest of the world has really made us popular with the rest of the world hasn't it?

Texas Sovereignty
SilverEagle replied to eulesseagle's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Just posturing for the public (he didn't have an aircraft carrier to land on, and a jump suit to wear) because, come primary time, it's very likely that he'll get his ass kicked by a woman. Good ol' Gov. good-hair. -
I'm On A Mission For The First Tailgate Next Year

And if you are determined to continue in this quest, this web-site should come in handy. http://www.aedsuperstore.com/?engine=adwor...amp;match_type= -
It's even more absurd than that. Why in hell would students even think about season tickets to the Dallas opera, when we have the finest school of music in the nation, including opera (yuk) AND THE PERFORMANCES ARE FREE TO STUDENTS. What a dumbass.....make that an absolute dumbass.

You know, once again I lay a lot of the blame for this SNAFU at the feet of the North Texas administration. How in God's name did this guy get on the President's council? And how in hell did they not know that he would be so opposed to the stadium project? Plus, IHMO, the students who are raising all the fuss (SDS etc) are the very ones who were attracted to North Texas because of that "North Texas is a great bargain" ad campaign that our brilliant administration came up with.

...then he had better do it! And I agree with GEO. If Dodge keeps losing and RV allows him to stay for the full length of his contract...or longer.....then everyone should go.

There are some empty grassy areas across Bonnie Brae from where the stadium is going to be built.
