You are arguing semantics. I was using a figure of speech. "They deserved that win" = "They were better than us."

That loss was not fun, but it wasn't all on Applewhite. We had half of a coaching staff and so many other factors. Plus SDSU came ready to play. They deserved that win.

Some of us Houston fans do. I do not understand the fascination with trying to get into a conference where we are so blatantly not wanted. I understand the money and exposure, but enough, already. UT despises us and will do whatever they can to get us out of their way. Who wants a conference mate that manipulative and underhanded? And that's not sour grapes from Herman leaving.

Really sad. I know a few young men who knew the victim.

My boy attended public high school for a semester and transferred to a private. He does play sports, but make no mistake, he transferred for academics. He was bored to tears at the public. Now he makes his high grades at the private and works his butt off, but he loves it there. Recruiting does happen in the private schools. Not supposed to, but it does. My son knows kids in several sports who are getting recruited by both. *coughArgylePrestonwoodGuyercoughcough* Dunne got most of the kids from Prime Prep, but Lynch and AAA Academy got a few. Dunne and Lynch play for state football champ tonight. A district match-up, at that.

Not wholly from scratch. He took several assistants from Houston with him.

My understanding is that if they win the ACC championship, they may leap over Western Michigan for qualification to a higher-tier bowl. If that happens and Navy takes that other bowl spot, there will be an opening in the Armed Forces Bowl. I have *not* done the math on that because I don't know how it works. I read that explanation on a Houston board. (Just in the interest of full disclosure )

I have only seen his name mentioned on that link Harry posted at the beginning of this thread. I've heard Orlando, Applewhite, and a few other names thrown out... including Holgorsen, which I think is ridiculous, because why would he leave WV for Houston?!?... but I'm not sure SL is on the list at all. Which is fine with me. I like him where he is.

Before he refused to answer whether his agent was talking with any other schools on his behalf, the reporter asked him if he could deny that the rumors of him leaving were true. I don't remember how it was phrased exactly, and I can't rewind back that far on my dvr, but Herman's answer was essentially that he was denying that the rumors of him leaving are true. During the game, a statement from the UH AD was displayed, reading that UH has not been informed of Herman's departure. And we apparently offered him a 7-figure raise a few days ago. The press doesn't know, UH doesn't know, Herman won't talk, everybody in the country is speculating wildly. This is why I won't believe the hype at this point until I see an official press release. Too many chickens are running around crying that the sky is falling.

Well, when interviewed prior to the game, Herman said that there is no truth to the rumors and called them false. We'll see.
