A lot of folks are interested in these things. Hey, they posted that the tennis match yesterday had been moved indoors. I can bet that our Monday football scrimmage draws more fans than that tennis match did.

Thanks for the information, OT. I notice that there is no info about this rescheduling of the scrimmage on the official site. (at least none that I see). Seems to me, that should have been on there yesterday, as soon as this was decided.

Don't count out this kid at LB....... Maurice Sykes.....he's a 6'3", 253 lb. monster out there.

Think there's any chance the scrimmage might be moved to Saturday??? And yes, I know how off weather forecasts can be....but they seem pretty sure that Friday will be a wet day (with possible severe weather). And from what they said on Channel 8 tonight....the worst of it might be in the afternoon. Just wondering.......

Well actually, the league does rank all 13 of the teams when it comes to SBC tournament time. And, we were the 5th seed, as I recall. So, going by that, I'd say that we finished 5th, as well.

I understand what you guys are saying. No season is won, based on pre-season polls. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think we were picked 3rd (or worse) in our division in hoops......right? That being said.....I hope MTSU, Troy, ASU, ULL, ULL, FAU, FIU and soon to be WKU......are ALL much improved. It only helps us if this league gets better and better. (And I KNOW, we'll be much improved).

Maybe, but my friend GG II would never be caught dead in a sweater that is SMU red. He'd be in green....trust me.

The great Green Grenade is ALIVE AND WELL, and will be at the Green-White game. And I'm sure he's insulted that anyone thought he might be Flanny or Dickey.

Actually, he's not SIGNED yet. Just verbally committed. He can't sign until Wednesday April 11 (beginning of signing period).

By the way....another guy who looks great out there (at least from what little I saw): LB Marques Sykes. I hope that guy can play, because he sure looks the part.

I spent about an hour at the practice today. Here are a few notes: 1) Coach Dodge and staff are holding a coaches clinic for high school coaches (tonight and tomorrow). There were probably 100 h.s. coaches watching practice. 2) Only three QBs I saw today were: Meager, Tune and Phillips. I didn't see Woody. (He may have had class or something; or he may have been on another field.) Tune and Meager both looked great in the drills that I saw. Meager looked especially good. 3) Evan Fentriss looks great. Too bad he has to sit out a year. He does have to sit out...right? 4) I really like this WR #17....not sure who he is. 5) J-Mo still looks TOO BIG to me. 6) Both Holman and Monroe look like monsters out there. I think they are both going to have great years. Sorry, I don't have more to report.

Drex alerted me to this. Voertman's has some UNT b-ball t-shirts, which say "Tournament Bound'....complete with the entire 2007 bracket on the front. They say UNT Mean Green Basketball on them, and have the Final Four logo. They aren't out.......they got them in late, so they just have them in a box by the cash register. Ask for them.....if you want one. AND THEY'RE ON SALE.........only $7.99.

I think we have a great facility for softball (attended my first game today). And, I was impressed...I bet there were over 200 people at the game. We won 6-5.....coming back from down 0-5 (scoring 6 in the last two innings; 4 of those in the 7th).

I think it's great, absolutely great....that Mr. Staubach will be there for the coin toss. I do wish that we would invite Joe Greene, and have two NFL legends (one from each school) at the coin toss.

The best point guard that I"ve ever seen at North Texas.....was a small guy. He was maybe 6', 160.......I'm guessing. Anyway, it was the great Walter "Weasel" Johnson, who played for Coach Blakely in 75-76 and 76-77. Ryan McCoy's description (quickness, flashy passer and his size).....remind me of "Weasel"...... I hope we get this kid.

The last time we were in the NCAA tournament, Coach Gales didn't take advantage of it. We signed 6 guys, and I think only one of them ever graduated (Rusty Walker---who is now a high school head coach I think). So, it's imperative that we take advantage of all of the recent positive pub, and recruit really well. I think we will. One more point: How intimidating must it be....if your opponent is God's Academy???
