that's awesome. i had family in Welch WV which have since split up into Bristol VA/TN & Winchester VA. I'm fairly certain they were raised on mountain dew (not the soda) and pipe tobacco. those genes must be where i got the taste for it.

Forget the napkin this time and just bring me a roll of paper towels. Thank you so much for posting this video!

personally, i liked the list, but give me irish at the top by a mile (powers, clontarf, paddy, jameson 12 year). we've all got our individual tastes and american bourbon does a better job at giving me heartburn than anything else. I dont see the problem with crown other than the company's insane overhead which forces it to charge double what it should. it's really not a bad sipping drink and always makes for a good time when mixed with a bit of 7up. granted, I haven't purchased a bottle since they charged $18 for it when I was 22 years old but I'm usually kind of happy to get it in the gift set from buddies at holiday/birthday time. I also encourage the use of moonshine in most mixed drinks (anything with vodka). it can make any pinky raising drink a crowd pleaser and is magical with a bit of apple cider + lemonade. sadly, i've yet to experience the speyside, islay, or brittany blends but will absolutely keep my eyes peeled For my tailgate this fall, I'm hoping to score as much tortuga rum as airport customs will let me bring home from vacation this summer and pray that it lasts me more than 2 games.

+1 for promoting Basil Hayden... that stuff is ridiculous. not many bourbons on the market that i prefer with ginger ale instead of diet coke. that stuff is about as smooth as any triple distilled irish whiskey (excluding Paddy)

maybe we should get Clubber Lang's opinion on how this player's opponents will feel after the game.

already knighted... excellent. -
lol... i would love to hear your thoughts on the 90 Minute... just go to Metzlers, always a cold 4 pack available on Londonderry. Don't worry about the price, it will do the job of any 6 pack X 2! The Anchor Steam is an awesome craft beer. I would have to give that some consideration in my personal top 5. This is as difficult as thinking of my favorite movies!

I don't know what is so bad/unhealthy about acquiring a taste for quality coffee or wine (cab especially) in moderation. My sources say the benefits of one glass of each per day outweigh any caloric or liver negative as long as you participate in an active lifestyle... unlike myself or my avatar. smoking cigars is bad..... i'm bad.

There are a lot of acquired tastes in this world... coffee, wine, cigars, IPA's. As stated in an earlier post, coffee has come a long way in the past 30-40 years. I can assure anyone that IPA's are substantially more advanced than the slop that was being shipped to India. Brewmasters all over the world have been putting their 2 hands together and crafting up some incredibly delicious IPA's for a long time. Many of these products are not the slightest amount bitter and contain an abundance of complex flavors that are pleasing to a discriminating palate. I totally agree that there are some nasty IPA's. However, you can always find an equally nasty lager, hefeweizen, etc. To compare a feeling that I have which is similar to SilverEagle's IPA bias... I hate tea with a passion and there isn't a drop on this earth that I can find pleasing.

Scaldis... if you are lucky enough to find it, grats. Vigne in Denton and Holy Grail Pub in Frisco/Plano carried it on my most recent visits. You can't go wrong with a Duvel if you are in need of something a little "different" or a Belhaven Scottish Ale if you need something even maltier than Shiner. The best quality "chugging" option (besides the freezing cold Shiner at Hooters) is definitely a tall glass of Paulaner Oktoberfest God Bless Metzler's!!!

can someone please pass me a napkin

Spot ON and not just at football games... I hated having to show my basketball season ticket to a different person sitting in my seat at EVERY SINGLE GAME and having to explain how that was my spot, only to always have them look at me and say "but the usher said we could sit anywhere". I know it's an unwritten rule for general admission to be able to move wherever they want at the pit, but it would be nice if at least the first few rows in the 3 middle sections had a rope separating them.

that's a great question... I haven't been to enough stadiums to name 10 but i'll definitely keep my eyes peeled when watching from now on. As said before, Jones stadium has got it but the lower bowl is much deeper than 10 rows. Neyland stadium in tennessee has got tons of narrow walkways that wrap around the stadium on the top and bottom, however it's 3 stadiums stacked on top of each other so the design is very peculiar. One of my favorites (homer-call here) is the high school field here in Denton, CH Collins. It has a walkway and very few rows in the lower bowl and I think it's fantastic. I feel that it has an incredibly intimate atmosphere with great sight-lines and I really believe that our new stadium will have an equally great atmosphere for the fans. Even though I think the "Wing-zone" or "Nest" (whatever you want to call it) is a stadium abomination right now, I look forward to seeing how it looks on gameday and I hope to have a good review of it after that.

awesome! i can't wait to get a truckload of junk-mail and phone calls from the survey company responsible for this... and all for a sun belt shirt.

now we have our own "Sexy Rexy"

i know how dated the pit is, but for some reason that place is still a temple to me. Most likely due to mostly good memories... High school graduation, college graduation, odufa-who?

in that case, try not to spill anything on us

row 1 or 5 (i think this is the one above the corridor)? if 1, i'll try not to kick your chairback too often.

Please, anything but that! I really can't think of a bigger beating than being at an NBA or NFL game. Thankfully, the Rangers have not made their presentation too over the top yet... but i fear a disco ball dropping onto center field during the 7th inning stretch is probably on the way. If all NBA and NHL games had an organ playing instead of Kraftwerk, I would probably be more inclined to get season tickets. I hate pretty much everything about New York but Madison Square Garden still does most things correctly. Taking notes at a variety of Big 12, SEC, or Big 10 games would be a much better idea. Would anyone else like to hear a band playing at kickoff instead of the same worn-out Rolling Stones song? sorry to hijack the thread and i know this has been posted a hundred times, i'm just passionate about this topic

I'm sorry that everyone is so angry... I hope this helps. -
I finally got to choose today and I went with the lower section of 205 instead of upper 208. The representative helping me sold me on not worrying about the "shade" factor since the only day games would be the televised one's (indiana on big 10 network at best this season). The entire season ticket side is shaded by 5:00 so all i need to be concerned with is rain. I'm confident that a hat, sunscreen and a poncho will solve all my problems. I even splurged and went for the pricy seatbacks... hopefully that will please the wife. The unt rep really pushed the seats next to the entry corridor walls on the first 3 rows of the upper bowl. I love the aisle seat at basketball games but the thought of never having to stand or shift for someone to pass really intrigued me. We will also be a little closer to the action and the view of the video board should be great. Hopefully I'll have some sitters in the row in front of me. The live cam and our pictures don't seem to be serving this venue justice. Being that close to it for the first time while walking across the terrace, it seems like it will be very intimate yet noise conducive.

isnt the student sideline supposed to be bigger to accomodate the band entering and exiting the field... in reply to earlier posts

so i put up with all of that for nothing?
