  1. I apologize to anyone that was interested in starting a Roger Franklin thread, I placed a copyright on that a couple weeks ago.
  2. Personally, I believe we would have beat Tech with him on the floor. If C.J. and T.M. were the same position it would be a lot easier to build an argument. I'm enjoying this above .500 record with him but realize that Jackson/Grambling/UNO are not TT/UT/MS. I'm not sure that even Syracuse was going to stop UTA the night we visited the Stage. We would be lucky to have Tony here for his sophmore year (i still think that is doubtful). I wouldn't worry about Chris though... If he sticks with UNT 3 more seasons he will absolutely get the credit he is due when his # is hanging above our heads in the Pit for eternity. It seems to me that C.J. greatness discussion has been in plenty of threads. Please don't ask me to prove it.
  3. GLHF ZO
  4. at least he made up for his couple of passing turnovers with a couple steals. seemed like J.W. took Walton starting as a message that he needs to start producing and he did. we saw a typical # of missed 3's from J.W. but if we can get this same result out of both of them each game then lets keep that starting lineup as is. we saw a couple instances of J.W. slashing to the basket this game and I hope that this will be the start of him getting more comfortable doing that at the college level. i might be the only person left on this board that hasn't stated how much they LOVE chris. as of right now, i can't begin to describe how happy i am to (hopefully) have him another 3 seasons. he's only going to get even better.
  5. Who will be the first to rub the sloppy, inexcusable, clueless T.M. perimeter foul in my face? I didnt think it would even take this long for someone to call me out after all the prophecy i was spouting out a couple nights ago. I have no idea what was going through his head but he is good at wrapping up and using his hands. Im changing my stance, instead of Small Forward i think we should move him to Free Safety.
  6. sorry, i didn't think that the entire court behind the 3 point line should have been considered the perimeter. They were both standing on the letters in "North Texas" at mid-court. I agree that this kind of foul trouble is inexcusable and I would love to see us make some changes to prevent it. kudos to the guys below me at the bottom of 106 for unleashing hell on the refs after the shooting foul behind the arc.
  7. Only 1 of his fouls tonight came on the perimeter and that was because "Floppy the Englishman" earned himself an oscar. The mid-court steal attempt was about as ticky-tack as it gets. Every center he has matched up with has torched him with elementary head fakes with their backs to him. I say move him and at least TRY... there is no way it would be a worse result then what happened tonight with our perimeter D. I'm not going to disagree with the media and nba scouts about his footwork and dribbling until I get to see him in a position he is comfortable with. We are squandering our time with Tony using him as a Center. After 5 games, the highest rated recruit in our school's athletic program history is being statistically hustled by Odufuwa at the same position. Personally, I believe J.W. possibly had his best game tonight with some great defense and no turnovers (that i can remember, correct me if I'm wrong). I'm totally fine with his minutes but I think they should be disbursed with him as a reserve. The missed shots and lack of penetration from him have hurt every game. I don't think I can blame the system for that since Tristan never seemed to have an issue with Kedrick and Odufuwa filling up the lane. I hate debating this side of a hypothetical situation since I know good and well I will never see Tony at the 3... I just believe we are not taking advantage of something special.
  8. i believe the foul trouble is because he is not a center and mentally collapses when trying to guard one at the college level. he will play the 3 at the next level and he needs to be playing it at this one now. his dribbling skills are light years beyond J.W.'s and I would love to see him get a few more touches on offense. This would give us a threat similar to Tristan with someone that isnt afraid to take it to the basket and get the other team in foul trouble. This could easily be done while giving J.W. the same amount of minutes since he could sub either Tony or Alzee. The only playing time change I can foresee with this type of adjustment is less Walton and more Zo. Of course, if Ked is going to miss time none of this matters.
  9. And the moment i call for his head he drains a 3 thats about 5 feet behind the line
  10. This is painful, walton better not be on the floor after this timeout after those awful passes
  11. Chris did a good job of staying cool and not going to town on a ref after his last foul when he blocked a shot cleanly. He started to yell but quickly bowed his head and took his place for the foul shot.
  12. absolutely... if Alzee can look me in the eyes and promise me that he can still hit at least 35% of his 3's after 60 attempts I would be more on board with giving him the green light to shoot.
  13. didn't he brick one off the front of the rim last night? and since he can't get to the line (only 11 attempts this year) his .818 % seems kind of worthless.
  14. +1 since you are obviously watching the same team as me. the only point i would contend is 5 since nobody on this team should be shooting 3's.
  15. is this crazy? 1 - C.J. 2 - A.W. 3 - T.M. 4 - R.F. 5 - K.H. J.W.'s numbers are so inconsistent and it seems like he doesn't know what to do besides miss 3 pointers when someone passes him the ball.
  16. Going into this season i was convinced my favorite to watch would be J.W. after seeing all the highlight reels. After a dozen games, i can't keep my eyes off Roger whenever he's on the court (mark). After switching systems he seemed a bit lost during the first several games but he now appears to be another leader along with C.J. Nobody comes off the bench with as much intensity as him and I'm praying that his movement away from the ball will become contagious. I've been trying to imagine a past player to relate him to but could only picture a hybrid Shorter/Odufuwa. I would hate to see time taken away from Ked (for nothing more than nostalgia reasons) but Roger does nothing but produce and make good shot selections. He's going to do nothing but get better and I'm thrilled to still have him here next season. Edit: obviously Tony Mitchell is a different story all-together
  17. my prediction featuring Tony as Scorpion...
  18. Mr. 7'2 never got off the far end of their bench. either he has zero skills or is totally out of shape... or both.
  19. They have a 7'2 giant... Thankfully, feet look slow and moves appear generic/predictable
  20. not worried about Sunday at all... I heard Jackson is still recovering after getting beat by Chong Li
  21. Trey has a serious limp in that boot... Lookin bad
  22. Absolutely give me the cheap 3rd when you are losing, have our record, and cant get anything going offensively for 10 of those minutes.
  23. Your leading scorer? Sorry 15 minutes is excessive when you have more to give
  24. So... We bench our top scorer for being wild for 15 minutes of the 1st half. Yet, the rest of the team is wild as all get-out and get to play??? This isnt the same situation as benching tristan when we have a winning record. And for heavens sake, someone else please help me yell at them to stop shooting 3's.
