No one is jumping to the belt until CUSA and MWC has picked over the WACs bones and they know where they stand.

It doesn't bother me that UNT is not being mentioned. CUSA and MWC commissioners are working together so maybe CUSA is going to take us. They aren't going to fight each other for teams.

SJSU makes about as much sense as UNT does, bad football in a huge market. I don't really think we should be putting down SJSU or Utah State. If you watch Utah State play it is pretty obvious that they are an up and coming football team. Comcast wants Utah State so they can justify keeping the Mountain on cable in Utah.

CUSA > MWC with all of the defections taken into account. Who else is worth a crap in MWC minus those two. I can't think of anyone I would really want to play in the MWC there are several teams in CUSA I would rather play.

There is a big difference between La Tech and UTEP. UTEP is in a much better market and has a much better BB program that is always at the top of CUSA. I am also pretty sure that UTEP's attendance smashs la tech.

It pays nothing and gives them no exposure. I know the story is recent but I don't think that is a recent quote.

It won't get AQ status but it should be able to get a better tv deal than the MWC or CUSA have on their own. The main thing that this will do is that it will get MWC out of their terrible tv deal.

Just because they don't want to be there, doesn't mean they aren't going to be there. They don't have any other options, no one else is even interested in them.

This $2,000 stipend will be the death of a few non-revenue programs if their schools are above the NCAA minimum for D1 programs.

No way this happens, it's just professional curtesy on the Big East's part.

It's not a terrible idea but I doubt CUSA would want a third bowl game in DFW. Armed Forces and Ticketcity Bowls

I get you are real bitter about SMU going to the Big East but do you really think they only had 500-1000 fans? You are quoting a poster on another board and treating him like he has all the credibility in the world and that he wasn't exaggerating. I can say that UNT had 30k fans in the stands for FAU, will you believe that? Please post it everywhere, maybe it will help us get into CUSA. If you say it enough times it becomes true right? I get so tired of all the SMU bashing on here, I wish UNT would just worry about themselves and take care of their own business instead of constantly judging ourselves based on others.

I think CUSA would invite UNT for all sports I was just curious if everyone here would be opposed to an invite if it wasn't for all sports.

I have a question to people on this board. the MWC/CUSA merger is for football only. There has been quite a bit of speculation that they may add teams to either CUSA and MWC for other sports and teams to the alliance for football only. Would UNT be interested in joining the MWC/CUSA merger if it was for football only and they had to park their other sports somewhere like the MVC?

Alabama has said that they would vote for Missouri to join if they would play in the SEC East. This would clear up a lot of the current problems with adding missouri. It is looking like this is going to happen. How this will effect the Big East I don't know. The Big East voted to double their exit fee today so that would be some pretty crappy timing by them.

UNT isn't doomed by anything SMU does. UNT has a good chance of coming out in a much better situation.

They are going to be FBS next season.

There hasn't been an announcement and probably won't be as long as the Big East is around.

I was responding to Elpasoeagle who said good luck ponies as in he hopes they go to the Big East. I was saying that I hope they do as well because that is the only way UNT will get a spot in Mountain USA because they have no need as long as SMU there.

I think it would put just as much money in UNT's pocket. I am more interested in it putting W's in UNT's pocket. These teams are incredibly weak, especially UTSA , they would be layups for UNT. A win is not easy to come by and this would go along way to keeping UNT bowl eligible year in year out.

No kidding. With the MWC and CUSA merging there is no longer a need for the MWC to have a DFW presence. As long as SMU is in Mountain USA then UNT is permanently relegated to the Sunbelt.

How many time are you going to mention this? That game vs. Houston was delayed by two hours because a monsoon hit their stadium. No kidding their attendance was going to be terrible just like ours was last saturday because of weather. Why bash SMU's attendance when UNT's is equally bad and why are you constantly quoting a poster on another board? That's like quoting the National Enquirer.

I don't know that it is a foregone conclusion that CUSA adds anybody if 2 or 3 teams leave. The could just stand pat at 9 or 10.
