  1. He turned down NC State and South Carolina. It would cost well over a million to get him.
  2. Pretty wishful thinking. The alliance isn't locking the bcs schools out of squat. These games aren't going to be more appealing to the networks than the conference championship games or even Texas vs. Baylor.
  3. Can't we wait until we have good attendance before casting stones.
  4. You are right that no one really cares about the CIT but you are misinformed about a couple of things. You do not have to pay to play in the CIT. You have to pay if you want to host a game somewhere in 30k-40k range. The visiting team gets all their expenses paid for. If you can profit off of playing a home game it obviously makes sense to pay for one. You get your team more experience which for a young team can obviously be beneficial.
  5. I would think it would make more sense to put the money into football and get good at that again first.
  6. Those guys are crazy if they think they are going to make more money in CUSA than the teams in the Big East.
  7. It might actually be a better thing for UNT if this is true.
  8. http://www.fbschedules.com/ncaa/sun-belt/north-texas-mean-green.php link to future non conference schedules. Army isn't listed until 2016
  9. I guess I should have specified FBS teams because that is what I meant. Anyway we average having SMU on the schedule 1 out of every 3 years. They already play TCU every year, does anyone know of any other school that isn't independent that has two set in stone non conference matchups every year? I am guessing there are few if any.
  10. UNT has played SMU more than anyone else. I guess I don't understand why everyone is so mad at them for not playing us when they have played us more than UT, Tech, A&M, Baylor, and TCU.
  11. If tv markets are pointless, why does conference expansion seemed to be centered around it? The conferences are talking to tv execs and they are telling them who will get them the most viewers (money). This isn't some guessing game done by the conferences. The tv execs are telling them teams with bigger market = more tv money.
  12. I guess I look at the transfers way differently than anyone else. I don't consider them 4 star level talent anymore. If they were that level of player they could have cut it at their previous schools. I hope they get back to that level, I'm just not heralding these guys as saviors of the program or anything.
  13. RIce was a good player had at least 8 offers. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Sam-Rice-107155
  14. IMO he was best player in the recruiting class.
  15. They told him they didn't want him anymore. Weird story around it all. google it, I don't want to screw it up.
  16. I would bet just about everything I have Aaron Curry is not coming here. Would truly be an absolute shock if he did.
  17. I am going with slot receiver.
  18. Interestng
  19. not sure where you got your info but they will be fbs in 2012 just cant go to a bowl.
  20. He doesn't have an A & M offer. He is interested in Utah and Houston.
  21. You get the same amount of practices whether you bowl game is in december, january or march. I think the limit is 15 practices might be 18.
  22. The reasons UNT is almost always one of the last to find out their schedule is because of all the money games that the Sun Belt plays. The Sun Belt tailors their schedule around the SEC and the other BCS conferences so their teams can play money games. So once all of the other conferences set their schedules then the Sun Belt makes theirs.
  23. OK state, Arizona, K-State and Baylor were all 1 home game for 2 away games. CSU, Arizona State, Houston, Rice, and New Mexico are all home and homes. They aren't playing a single money game as far as I can tell.
  24. Biggest reason this can't be done is that there are already bowls on the waiting list to be added and the NCAA isn't adding any more bowl games anytime soon. There is a bowl from LA and Orlando that are trying to get added but the NCAA keeps turning them down.
  25. All of the UT system schools use orange. I don't know if it is a requirement or what. Blue is one of the few colors that actually goes decent with it. They need to get over that.
