Colorado is about to bolt for the Big 12...
Dannymacfan replied to C Rod's topic in Mean Green Football
Agree 100%. And frankly I am ok with that. My best guess is that the Big 12 will poach Arizona and Arizona State. I think the B10 will take Oregon and Stanford. I think that the rest will have to go to the Mountain West. I think that the AAC should try to make a play for the remaining ones though as well. The AAC has a valid selling point to them with their markets. -

Agreed huge win but the Stros still took 2 out of 3 and they are getting big Yordan and Altuve back for the final stretch. -
So do you feel like the Cal game is a good barometer of where we are or too soon? I think if we are able to pull an upset or at least be competitive in that game I will feel a lot better about a 7 or 8 game winning season. I only see 3 sure losses against Tulane, SMUt and nUTSAck.

You and your like are part of the problem @Green Crazy. We get into a top not conference, just a few days ago and instead of be happy and optimistic about that you choose to focus on the negatives. NIL is a mess, we all know it and it will become legislated soon.

No Allen is backing up Sisoke I believe.

I posted this in a separate thread but I did find it interesting when he said Houston only won it once. Memphis won it more than I had expected. And never realized Temple was that good enough to win the league. Makes me disappointed we got stuck with sad sack Seth all these years and no championships under our belt.

I was surprised to see Houston had only won it once. Also Memphis had won it more than I anticipated.

Cornerback Kemon Hall was undrafted out of North Texas in 2019. He signed with the Chargers and played with the team through the preseason before going on the practice squad early in the regular season. After being released by Los Angeles, Hall bounced around the league and spent time with the Vikings, Saints and Cowboys. Hall was brought back in 2021. In the past two seasons, Hall appeared in 18 games, combining for eight tackles and a fumble recovery. He has primarily been used as a special teamer. With such an influx of talent at the cornerback position, it isn’t a stretch to think that Hall could be on the fringe during roster cutdowns in August. He will need to produce strong showings in training camp and the preseason to warrant his continued inclusion in the Chargers organization. Contract (2023): $940,000 base salary, no prorated bonus, $940,000 cap hit. Acquired: Hall was claimed off waivers by the Chargers in 2021. 1. Willie Fritz, Tulane Tulane was one of college football's biggest surprises from the '22 season. After a 2-10 season the previous year, the Green Wave went 12-2, won the AAC title and finished No. 9 nationally after beating USC in the Cotton Bowl. Fritz has guided the program to four bowl games over the last five seasons - a significant upgrade after Tulane earned just one postseason trek from 2003-17. Whether it's the current stint in New Orleans or previous stops at Central Missouri (97-47 from 1997-09), Sam Houston (40-15 from 2010-13), or Georgia Southern (17-7 from 2014-15), Fritz is simply a winner and has a resume that places him among (if not No. 1) the best Group of 5 coaches in the nation. 2. Jeff Traylor, UTSA Of the six new programs in the American Athletic Conference for '23, the Roadrunners are easily the team most capable of making an impact right away - potentially for a berth in a New Year's Six bowl. After a successful stint as the head coach at Gilmer High School, Traylor spent time as an assistant at Texas, SMU, and Arkansas before taking over in San Antonio. In three seasons at the helm, the Roadrunners are 30-10 and posted back-to-back Conference USA titles (2021-22). read more: https://athlonsports.com/college-football/ranking-american-athletic-conference-college-football-coaches-2023

GMG Podcast Tonight! What questions do you want answered?
Dannymacfan replied to TheReal_jayD's topic in Mean Green Football
1). If Chandler Rogers is #1 who is #2? 2). Who is impressing the new coaching staff the most? 3). What assistants are doing the most in recruiting thus far. 4). What is going on with basketball? Are they done with this signing class? -
Here are the College Football Odds, courtesy of FanDuel. College Football Odds: Over/Under Win Total Odds Over 6.5 wins: -102 Under 6.5 wins: -120 *Watch college football LIVE with fuboTV (click for a free trial)* Why North Texas Can Win 6.5 Games There is still a lot of optimism at North Texas. Mainly, it has to do with the incredible talent that is leading this team. They have players that can make significant plays down the stretch. The Mean Green will see a new veteran quarterback from ULM as Chandler Rogers comes in to add some mobility and rushing ability. Furthermore, he adds a dynamic that forces defenses to think twice. The Mean Green will employ a superior attack at the wide receiver position. First, there is Roderic Burns, who caught 40 passes for 676 yards and one score. Ja'Mori Maclin is another option after catching 16 passes for 380 yards and two scores. Finally, Damon Ward hopes to keep improving after catching 26 passes for 378 yards and three scores. The offensive line was excellent in 2022 and ranked fifth-best in the country in sacks allowed. Moreover, guys like 6-4 316-pound Febechi Nwaiwu emerged and showed how good he could be at protecting the quarterback and opening lanes. read more: https://clutchpoints.com/north-texas-football-win-total-odds-over-under-prediction-for-2023
