His downfall was that it worked for one season. A 9 win, bowl-winning season. A season we all enjoyed and continue to overrate. But so many things had to go right that year, a year where we didn't win a conference that was down compared to now. The offense that year was just good enough, but we had to score on special teams and defense to win. Those 2 phases were great, but that's hard to duplicate, especially when you don't recruit. Mac was sold that it was his system that created that success and he could plug in guys and replicate it. Stubborn to a fault.

The ticket sales office and mean green club are poorly run and inept. I had constant issues with them and they are half the reason I quit contributing to both.

Blinn College was the best a few years back. Their coach left to join his dad, after we passed on him, at Texas State. They would probably have formed a better scenario here, maybe, but in no way should we hire a coach at that level. Raise the bar my man.

RV! On a team that wasn't that great. It was fun. I had a blast at the cotton bowl. But soooooo overrated was that team. It had all the Mac issues. Didn't win conference, a conference that was down. Beat a meh UNLV team. Won games with defense, special teams, and Dodge players or transfers. Straight up FACTS. Was DT good enough? And on and on. NO. Skaldany, Sarge, Trice, Orr, Chancellor, O-line, and so forth. But it was Huge for this program. Then those Dodge seniors left and Dan went 4-13 since. Fact. Done. Over.

The loser mentality of this program and those who blindly support it are maddening. Raise the bar people. The one outlier, fluke season, while fun, is extremely overrated. Facilities are great. RV built them all by himself did he? They are merely asthetic at this point as they have yet to yield results. We are consistently beaten, out-scheduled and out-recruited by schools with less. Also, the athletics office has consistently failed to increase sth and mgc numbers mainly due to their own ineptitude and laziness. Not to mention results on the field. There are a lot of problems and they won't be fixed overnight, but we aren't seeing enough consistent overall improvement, and don't see any on the horizon. If Texas can see things aren't going in the right direction in 22 months, 14 years should be long enough for those of us at little ole North Texas.
