Every fan of a good P5 program will scoff at the possibility of one of their assistants leaving for little ole UNT. In the end, that's their ego talking and they are as clueless as the rest of us.

CSU fired their AD last August, hired Mike Bobo away from UGA for $1+ Mil in early December, approved a $220 Mil stadium in mid December and finally hired an AD (from Texas Tech) the following March. Things can be done without an AD in place. However their leadership is probably leaps and bounds ahead of ours.

Love the guy, but he's also a big reason why we are here right now. He will be a solid addition somewhere else, hopefully it won't bite us in the ass.

Kudos to the defense. They had a rough 1st quarter, but have been great since then. If we had any semblance of an offense we would be in this game.

What I don't understand is why this "come to Jesus" meeting took so long to happen. Why didn't Canales approach him, earlier, and say, "hey, you want to play, this is what you have to do, meet me in the film room after practice." Are we to believe this was the case, and DSMith said no and just didn't do it? Seems like the egos of the coaching staff are detrimental to developing this roster. Not all these kids are going to go above and beyond on their own.

It has already been announced that we are updating the Athletic Center lobby, the locker room and the meeting room (including adding stadium seating). Already paid for and everything.

He's a child.

He might not have the buzz factor, so he might be considered a safe pick. The only caveat, he has won everywhere he has been. He always runs a good offense and has Texas ties. Now, we might not be able to get him, and he might not be exactly what people want, but he's an interesting name to consider.

Willie Fritz isn't just a triple option guy. He ran different pistol offenses before Georgia Southern, and he doesn't exclusively run that there. That's the offense that school and their fans wanted him to run. But he's capable of coaching the spread, with a strong running game.
