This is the big domino, for now. Wonder if this will help or hurt CUSA and more importantly North Texas. Time will tell. Like I said in a previous post, if North Texas doesnt start winning, it doesnt matter.

The scout os right. Tony is a dunker, not a basketball player. He can't create his own shot against marginal defenders. He has zero post game. He doesn't have the necessary skills to succeed at the next level. He is an athlete with potential. He is basically a microcosm of this entire team. Athletically a ten, basketball IQ a zero.

This stuff has gotten so out of whack I can't pay attention to it anymore. The focus should be on the program anyway. The more successful our programs are the more attractive we will be to other schools and conferences. Take care of business on the field and the rest will take care of itself. 4-8 in the sbc, CUSA, mwc, doesn't matter, it's still 4-8.

This is a risky hire, but the Tech fans love it. They don't need to rebuild and they've been recruiting well so hes in a decent spot at least. Itll be interesting to see what kind of experience he has on his staff. I'm guessing a lot. Tuberville left tech in a bad spot. They could've had Sonny Dykes if they were made aware earlier. We will see how it goes for them. Seems like the type of thing that might work there, but would never work here.

I don't see him leaving now, I don't think he's offered a HC position. I really like him, but his tenure here has been pretty mixed. Yes he needs talent, but it's also his job to find and recruit that talent and plug them into his system successfully. If we get better QB play but the offense doesn't improve it may be time to go in a different direction.

North Texas fandom is a double-edged sword. It's a bad program that we all HOPE is on the rise. Should we be supportive? Should we raise expectations? Was this the right/wrong hire? We can debate everything forever. But why the separatism. The petty arguing on here is stupid.

The o-line was great this year, and you have to have those guys. But if you don't have playmakers it doesn't matter. To turn around a program you have to have an above par system and/or recruit well. Not sure this staff has either. We will see.

After the Banquet George rushed over to play a Birdogs show at Dan's. Hank Dickenson was there, as were several mean green players. Great night, a few mean green mentions as well. I don't know how jub does at all, while also being pretty darn good at all of it. The players I noticed were basically Thompson, the o-line, and little Dunham.

Garcia, the AD, was with Butch at Miami and Cleveland.

He was fired because they went 3-9 and the AD sees an opportunity to hire his buddy Butch Davis, which would be a great hire for them.
