My brother said he was very nice, and approachable. I joked if he asked him to buy season tickets. He doesn't get enough respect at smu, for sure. It's funny how our programs mirror each other, albeit for different reasons. He wouldn't be there without that paycheck. I assume he was recruiting out that way.

My brother spotted June Jones drinking alone at a dive bar called Stadium Cafe in Addison. He was by himself. Drinking wine and drawing up plays on a stack of papers for a few hours. He said hi, not going to lie I'm a little upset he didn't give him a go mean green since he comes to a few UNT games a year, but he's an OU grad. Pretty funny story though.

IF in fact this is real, then bravo. I'm shocked honestly. Common sense! There is your traditional, classic look helmet. Now if you want to add a special helmet from time to time, go for it. Still think the unis need black outlines on text, logos and numbers, but whatever. See RV, we don't hate everything! Just things that suck. Good job.

The HOD unis were the best unis they've run out, maybe ever (Despite using 2 different greens) The 100 year throwback unis were great too (Despite the helmet, with the overrated retro worm that looks like a dong, and using 2 greens) Current look needs a new helmet, green, with anything besides "north texas" written out. New pants. Jersey needs some slight adjustments like piping and number outlines. Get that set, and do an alternate once a year. Not hard. How did these schools get new unis from Nike? (Sarcasm) We got new helmets this year...and same crap with a shiny gloss. (which is fine, the gloss not the design) Sow was better, even though they didn't do it right last year, with uneven sized stickers, black with a white face mask. I don't trust this ad to do it right. I was actually surprised they put out something remotely good last year. Sorry Rick V, I know how sensitive, butt hurt and defensive you get when you read these comments from fans...oh I mean "your detractors".

Texas Tech has played @ Utep, SMU AND Texas State the last few years. Ok. State played at UTSA. OU played at Tulsa. We can't get Iowa on a home and home. This is the 4th season of Apogee, and outside of Indiana, SMU and Houston we haven't been able to schedule a name apponent at home. I know there are a lot of moving parts here, but there should be no reason why we can't get a P5 school in here. It's important.

I may have missed this, but I thought there were going to be new helmets this season.

Thank you for clarifying that. Admittedly, I thought that was the new stadium. Still a solid get for Houston. I think we would love a similar game.

Went to get my helmet today and a lot of the starters are already taken. Good to see that demand is high. A couple of things, though. First, they didn't have all the helmets available in the office and they couldn't get ahold of the equipment guys to get the helmet I selected. So I had to leave empty handed, after I paid for it. Second, I was treated the same as if I was buying a $20 hat. This didn't bother me by any means, but I thought it was interesting that no one approached me to join the mean green club, buy season tickets or anything. I'm certainly in the minority of people who bought helmets but isn't a member or ticket holder, but I probably would have joined had they asked. They even had my info which should only show a few single game purchases the past few years. Just found it a little surprising. Oh well. Look forward to getting my helmet whenever they get around to getting it for me.

I'm hearing there will be special A-train service to and from the game. Typically, there is no DCTA service on New Year's Day. Expect a release in a few days. Good news, hopefully it will help increase attendance.
