Disappointed is a good way to discribe what happen, but you have to think were we came from. AK said in the press conference that bowl games were never mentioned in his first 3 years here and this year it was. Thats something to build on, I fell like a broken record but our record wont change overnight and neither will the culture. Patience is a virtue and sometimes greatest things happen when you wait and let the piece fall in place. You dont get a free ride but the team won the games they were supposed to and that hasnt happened in 4 years. If we continue to win at home, youll see the attendance increase. I was walking outside yesterday and hated every second of it, I thought to my self how did I make it on saturday... I can understand why they wouldnt want to come, because I wouldnt sit outside in the pouring rain if I just wanted to go to the games just to do something on Saturdays. I didnt even wanna walk out to my car

And thats why there sitting on the coach while UCLA is going to a bowl game

I never said that Arizona, Kentucy or Louisville were body bags, Im talking about the power houses OU, Bama, LSU, UT. Ok State to me wasnt a bad choice just because they played at ULL last year but I still dont know if I would do it. Or K State, we almost pulled off a victory with 19 guys on out. I think playing lower AQ teams are great, you get to see how you face outside of the conference and actually have a chance to win a game.

Theres a difference between developing a program from scratch to one thats already in place. If you look at all the coaches that got fired this year, there overall records are right at even or above .500. Sometimes you just need a change in leadership, companies do this all the time. I think Mac enjoys building a program, you can see that in the way he talks and his passion. He wants to be the one who did the impossible, I think thats what motivates him. But if youve done all you can and the pieces just dont fall in place, you have to move on. I dont think Mac will leave, I think hes gonna be a Chris Peterson or Gary Patterson type of coach, but you never know. Im just interested to see if he'll recieve any offers, interviews or anything, then to see what we need to do to keep him.

One game makes a big difference, thats my point. Every game counts look at Ok State and Stanford. They lost one game and there out of the national championship game. Houston lost the championship game and there out of a BCS game, the more wins the better...plain and simple I ment to type wku, not ull fixed

http://espn.go.com/c...ach-report-says I keep on talking about money but im interest to see how long Mac will stay here if he puts on a winning season like Freeze did this year. Freeze did a great job this past year and interesting to see how he'll do at Ole Miss. I bet he'll be right at around a million a year, quite a upgrade from 200k, or around 750k due to the money that they owe Nutt. Mac could easily get over a Million in the Big 10 or Big12, a 100% increase is allways a good thing when it comes to your financial future. Ive grown up my whole life by this motto "Do what you love to do and the money will come." If Mac truely loves North Texas and wants to be here for the long run, he'll stay but if his heart is somewhere else, he'll leave. I can never say what is good for you because thats youre job. Most importantly job security is something to take inconsideration, and if you dont win early youll be out just as fast as you came in. And its a "What have you done for me lately" attitude right now and you always have to strive to be better because once youre on top someone is right behind you trying to take your spot. Great Job by Freeze, Congrats

Im interested to see if the SBC will reduce the body bag games due to being bowl eligible... I know WKU* didnt make it but if you start adding wins and reducing loses your chances will be better. But to me its all about the money, the bowl committee wants a good game and to sell seats. Theyre in business to make a profit not to be fair, if you have a problem with people making money then go work for free and see how long that last. I understand that body bag games bring in lucrative dollars but im interested to see what the schools are going to do. North Texas has a greater chance to reduce them due to the stadium sponsorship. But other schools they are taking a chance and risking a profit in the short term but possibly more in the long run in donations and TV contracts in other conferences. Marginal Cost = Marginal Benefit is easy on paper to find but hard to find out in reality.

If you really want to know the answer, PM me and ill tell you.. Not public info

Why would it matter if a coach gets fired, its about the players... A player only has 4 (sometimes 5) years to go to a bowl game when a coach has his entire career... I dont understand why you would punish the players because of the coach, I also dont understand why you would punish the current players for things that they had nothing to do with (USC)
-
its funny how everyone talks bad about the bcs but not about the bowls in general... Its all about who you play and every game counts, ok state lost to a bad iowa state team and got left out, wku lost to an fcs team and got left out... Given the belts attendance, why would you wanna take a risk in not selling as many seats to wku instead of a team like ucla who travels really well
-
To the outside You can say its injury related but he wasnt "allowed/cleared" to play.. Dont worry to much about it
-
AT&T pays a great dividend of over 6%, and cowboy games are just as fun... Whats wrong with people wanting to make money, just because you have some (or a lot in some cases) doesnt mean that you shouldnt make more. I would love to see if you would work for free

Yeah it sucks about the attendance but it was raining the entire game, what do you expect... How can you expect a fan base (non parents) of 2k to go the game... Having 30k students and 90k alumni in the metroplex means nothing because we havnt done anything to bring them back... AS IN WINS, people will only come if we win, no one likes to cheer for a losing team, plain and simple Yes, we built a new stadium, new coach, and a growing program but you cant expect us to be like AQ program overnight ... Yes UTSA has had a great attendance this year but its there first year. Weve been a disappointment for the last 35 out of 40 years.. You cant compare us to them any was, San Antonio is completely different than the DFW Quit B!tching.. This was a great game for the players and our coaches....They left it all out on the field. Theyve put a lot into this season and our program and if you only look at the negative of things, I feel sorry for you.. Finally, Congrats to the Seniors.. This game was for you, yall have been through it all and even though the record doesnt show it, yall will make this program into something in the years to come.. Jimmy V said about cancer "It may not save my life. It may save my childrens lives. It may save someone you love." Thats exactly what these guys did this year... They wont get all the recognized because of there record but they did more for this program this year than most... These are the guys that will turn this program around, it didnt happen in there 4 years but it will for the guys coming here. GMG Countdown till Sept 8

As the coaching dominoes fall...
Dr. Seuss replied to The Fake Lonnie Finch's topic in Mean Green Football
it all comes down to money.. 150k is very inexpensive for an OC/DC, AQ programs pay them from 350-800k+... bowen was making 500k at kansas.. -
I wouldnt worry about where Trice is going to play, hes a man... He'll be where the ball is, plain and simple
-
He's not an idiot, hes gonna get who ever will help the team win... I dont think he'll load up on Juco players but I think he'll get the guys he wants... The Juco players that we right now have been pretty good, Downing has been a stud lately, Graham is a lb playing safety, Flo hasnt made an impact as we hoped, Fords made plays... These guys are a lot better than yall think... Yall are just to blind to see.... or maybe im to blind to see because I know them and how much they wanted to win and get into a bowl game
-
Im sorry but were not Kentucky, Unc, or Duke... Even though we have a great recruiting class, it doesnt mean that well win every game.... I know we should of been competitive but were starting 3 freshman. These guys arent top 50 recruits, quit acting like they are because thats only gonna bring disappointment... Now once Tony comes in its a different story, but still dont act like we'll be a top 25 team with them, it takes time Theres no excuse for that many turnovers, but what do you expect with a young team... JJ will get them in shape for conference, just calm down
-
He can play cb/safety/wr.. Hes a man.... Like ive said before, he will be the best player on the team next year
-
Im sure if you call the AD and ask them how you can get your 81 year old mother into the game Im sure theyll give you an answer, but if you dont ask you dont know... and they worst they could say is No, and the best is that youll get premier parking that you might not of gotten before. Just dont think it will be free, get your check book out Over weight people... If you cant walk .5 a mile go start working out, and youll be able to make the small walk Our alumni bring kids to our fraternity tailgate and they dont b*tch about the walk... They actually ask where do they sign for 4 seat for only 1000 a year, because in reality that is a steal Finally, if your only gonna join the MGC because of parking/walking, thats pretty sad... You join to give back, its better to give than to recieve Edit: Walking from fouts field to the stadium is the same distance for general parking for the cowboys...

Hes on the practice squad

Thrice is the best athlete on the team, kids a playmaker, First team all conference... Now Fedlt on the other hand has a lot to prove, very inconsistent

These threads lately have been pretty effin bad.... REALLY, lack of fans is due to one reason...LOSING RECORD. Fans dont make it a priority to go to games when there team sucks, plain and simple. For example, Boise State, they were a no name school before Peterson came along and turned the program around. TCU was unforgotten before LT came. Once your team starts winning the fans will come.
