Funny how everyone says that Dodge was the worst coach in the nation but he has 4 players playing football after college in 2 years... Not saying its a great stat but better than the other coaches

Jamize Olawale signs with Dallas Cowboys as Fullback
Dr. Seuss replied to All About UNT's topic in Mean Green Football
From the famous Todd Archer http://soundcloud.com/oddibe-mcben/todd-archer-intro "The Cowboys have 90 players on the roster, including their seven unsigned draft picks. The team is hoping to sign its picks by mid-June after waiting nearly until the week before training camp to talk to the players’ agents in past years. " -
Go take some xanax and oxycontin and relax

I thought he would of taken the K-State job... No Offense but JJ isnt a Williams, Coach K, or Calipari.. I thought going to a different system would of helped him develop into a HC.. Also hell be able to meet more people
-
I thought they should not hire Forrest as the HC, because of lack of experience and got blasted for it.. Yes I thought they should of gotten a coach with HC experience but I would not be disappointed with Benford... Hes had more experience in other systems than Forrest... I dont know if Forrest could pull in the type of assistants that Benford has.

Just like how Draylon Ross is still on the Bears practice squad -

SIGNED - 2012 HS - P.J. Hardwick - 5'10" PG
Dr. Seuss replied to NT03's topic in UNT Basketball Recruiting
Is this a Net Debit Spread or a Net Credit... calls or puts... Because im pretty bullish on Benford I would do a butterfly option strategy... Its a lotto ticket, he doesnt cost that much but the return could be insane if he hits the magic number in the middle Oh wait, are we talking about Coach K spread...lol -
Maybe a current player, maybe a recruit.... My point was that you have to look at all your options, just because you have an assistant coach with potential, doesnt mean its the right fit... But everyone wants to keep the coaches, even if there record is 20-87 or 6-37
-
Like I said before, you dont have to hire the current assistant coach to bring in and keep the current players... You have to have a vision and a winning attitude... Oh well, i guess ill buy my own drink once again. Great pick up by Coach Benford

Why does everyone want to bring back old coaches... They left, got fired, move on.. THERE ARE (Is that better) better coaches out there... Most of yall dont know about any other great assistants that are available... Guarentee no one knew of Chico, Weaver, Bowen, Wintrich... Everyone was talking about how Deloach should of stayed...please

Sunday night coach search update - down to 3 candidates
Dr. Seuss replied to NorthTexan95's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Its hard to say that Fran has been out of recruiting for too long... Hes gained more connections with local HS's, and AAU coaches while working for ESPN than most current coaches. Im all about Fran being hired, I just wanted a coach that at least made it past the first round -
Why would JJ not try and go after Odoh, hes spent 9 months recruiting him to UNT and hes not even there anymore....
-
Absolutely... If UNT would of wanted him he would of been offered a scholarship, from what I heard he never got one... It had nothing to do with baseball... Just bc he's a local kid doesn't mean he's the right fit
-
Cant forget about my Marcus Trice predictions
-
I just like how I was right, once again... And everyone doubted me... Oh well, I guess I'll buy my own shot

First, like it or not, we are not getting the big donors for the stadium. Yes, we have the naming rights sold, but that goes to pay off the stadium. Then add in other items such as 1) a baseball program and a stadium for it 2) basketball practice facility and the athletic department's share to improve the Super Pit 3)improvements to football practice facility including an indoor facility. My point is there are just NOT that many donors with the bucks to fund these things and a 750K contract for the basketball coach. Heck, they just stuck the students with another $115 a semester to build a new union building, so doubt you can go there again. This job, like a lot of mid majors, is a stepping stone job as I would bet Johnny never expected to be here 11 years. There is nothing wrong with taking a chance on a head coach like Danny Kaspar or Scott Cross who have been successful at schools smaller than us. And by the way, if you don't donate even on the smallest scale level, what you mention should be a reason to start.

Since everyone else is debating about how attractive they are, ill answer your question.... Yes/No... Smart wont leave VCU for Unt, that wont happen but I could see Gillespie leave Tech for Unt

Or fans wanting to keep DeLoach as the DC

lotto pick in 2013 draft, top 30 class of 2011, 4 straight 20 win seasons before this year, 3 consecutive sun belt championship appearances.... Now to you point of being viewed by the nation, were a nobody... But when you talk to basketball professionals, were a somebody with all the talent to make a major splash next year This is a job that coaches will want to take, Im not just drinking the Mean Green Kool-Aid, its facts. Only reason why JJ left is because it was LSU, his dream job/ alma mater... He was offered many other jobs and turned them all down
-
I bet the new head coach will make around $750k.... They will find the money, think about it... This is the year to make a splash, we need a proven HC that can take these guys to the next level, you cant be cheap and i think RV wont be. Why take a high risk on an unproven hc, yes you can hire a proven HC and they turn out to be Billy Gillispie at kentucky. Thats a gamble most ADs are willing to take with this type of talent here. No proven HC is going to take less that 750k, JJ was a steal... His most recent contract was 475k and bonus were around 100k, just like Mac.
