Coming in at number 21... Tony Mithell Mitchell had one of his best games of the season last Saturday against Florida Atlantic (24 points, 8 rebounds) before dropping in two more uninspired showings -- a 10-point, 7-turnover performance in a loss against Middle Tennessee followed by a 3-for-9 shooting night against Arkansas-Little Rock. Scouts aren't sure what to do with him at this point. Everyone believes he has NBA talent, but there are legitimate questions about how much he really wants to do anything with it. http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/draft2013/story/_/id/8894753/2013-nba-draft-ben-mclemore-rising-list-top-30-nba-prospects

Lets just play every game at a neutral site, I mean its not like they just spent 78 million on a new stadium we can't sell out We only need one neutral game site a year... And that my friends is a bowl game. Case closed.- 15 replies

Did someone say Ponchos is good Mexican food... Really... -
It's woman's basketball, hardly any schools outside the top 10 have decent attendance...

7 mins in and still no substitutions... Not sure if this team can last without anyone on the bench
-
Yea I messed up that stat... I changed it but it created a new topic.. Here's what I said
-
My 1st stat was wrong so let's try another... Teams combined record that we beat 30-76... One team has 9 wins, and one team above .500

I understand, Im relating this to a macro approach, not micro... To me, when someone says what was the best moment? I tend to think about what event was a turning point for the program. I know Im bringing up non sports examples.. When you talk to your boss at the end of the year and he ask "What was your best moment this past year?" Are you going to say "Man, I had my biggest deal (multi-million) fall through my finger tips due to not being able to close the deal." "Man it was a great moment hanging in with the big guys for just a little bit."
-
Ive never been happy with mediocrity and I wont start now
-
Tony did what he was supposed to do against one of the worst teams in the belt... Until they show something more Im still a debbie downer
-
I completely understand, who isnt very interested in coming to UNT...we're on a 8 year bowl less streak
-
Just like Perry Jones III was a sure top 5 pick this time last year....Still more than 1/2 a season left, I think he'll be a first round pick but his play this year isnt helping
-
You have to be kidding me about playing decent football for half of a game against Kstate... Really, please tell your boss that I tried really hard and I was 1/2 through finishing the job and then failed when it mattered most... And tell me that hes going to accept that... Come on... Not only that you failed when it matter most... but that was the best thing you did all year Im sure LSU fans are accepting that kind of attitude when they should of won the game against Clemson today
-
So youre telling me that Lance making a NFL roster is better than Craig making 93 tackles in his first NFL season (2nd on his team)... I would beg to differ CUSA has to be the best, but other than that everything has been a disappointment... Im looking at a half glass empty until something changes

Why dont we give everyone a ribbon for trying.... Lets turn this story around a little bit... Lets say that you started a new job and you are not meeting expectations, not even by a little but completely over whelmed. Not only are you ruining your career but youre ruining others. What would your boss do?? Fire you before things get worst, or keep you and tell you that youre still learning and everything is ok and hoping things will get better??

D: The North Texas Tonys -- Neither has accomplished much this season in Denton. Tony Mitchell likely would've have been a first-round pick had he opted to turn pro after his freshman season. Instead he returned to North Texas to hone his game, but he's averaging just 13.6 points and 8.6 rebounds, which is down from a year ago (14.7 and 10.3). Mitchell's NBA stock is falling. Also struggling is Benford, the former Marquette assistant who's in his first season as the Mean Green's head coach. North Texas is just 5-6 under Benford -- with a loss to Division II Alabama-Huntsville -- after going 18-14 a year ago. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/8760254/unlv-anthony-bennett-leads-our-weekly-look-nation-college-basketball D's = Degrees..... well, maybe not in basketball

"Mitchell came into the season with huge expectations. Many scouts wondered aloud whether he'd be a surefire top-five pick if he played at a big school. Many thought he'd put up huge numbers this season. So far, Mitchell has been a major disappointment. His team is just 3-4, and his numbers are down across the board -- lower field goal percentage, shooting just 29 percent from 3, fewer rebounds, fewer assists. Scouts who see him in games are all coming back with the same question: Is he really a lottery pick? The answer: Not if he keeps playing this way all season." http://insider.espn.go.com/ncb/features/rumors/_/date/20121220#9279 6. Tony Mitchell, F, North Texas No one has been a bigger disappointment than Mitchell for NBA scouts. Mitchell seriously flirted with the draft last year and, had he declared, would have gone somewhere in the mid-to-late first round. Many believed that with another year under his belt, and in the weak Sun Belt league, Mitchell would be putting up player of the year-type numbers this season. Instead, he has regressed a bit as a player. His numbers across the board are down and so are his team's. He is going to need a very strong season to pull himself back into the top 10. http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/blog/_/name/nba_draft/id/8746402/nba-cody-zeller-otto-porter-lead-nation-top-sophomores
