Huge win!!! Props to the coaching staff and players. I wanted to see how the players would react from hearing SL last week, and they responded like a team should. The defense played great tonight, they came up time and time again, it was refreshing to see. Excited to see how they respond next week.

SMU adds assistant coach Shawn Forrest to basketball staff
Dr. Seuss replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Didn't he lie about getting a masters degree and that's one of the reasons why he was fired from LSU? -
Both is fine, but it's a lot easier and a better experience to undersell and over deliver than over selling and under delivering like ole RV used to do. If we get into a position where we are in consideration for a conference change then by all means seize the opportunity
-
Y'all should calm down from all this conference stuff. I believe this hire had nothing to do with us moving conferences and everything to do with how she can make North Texas better off financially.
-
Seems like a great hire!! What does this mean for Hank?

Fine was standing next to Wilson on multiple occasions and Wilson was clearly 3-4 inches taller than Fine. Yes, he's listed at 5'11 but I saw him stand next to a guy who's just at 6'0. I know some of you older guys don't understand angles and how one angle can turn a 190-pound girl into one that looks like she's 125 but it's possible. I trust my eyes more than a picture.

Yes, his height will be a factor. He's 5'8 and guess how many starting 5'8 quarterbacks have started for a D-1 team? I don't know but I can tell you it's probably not many. However, he looked the part. He was in much more control of the offense than Morris. When he got hit he got right back up and looked over for the call. He was up at the line before the ball was set. For UNT fans to relate too, this was Derek Thompson-esque during his first drive vs. Ark State when he went 3-3 and 76 yards or something during his last game of his freshman year. After Fine's drive I think he can lead this team but let's see if his body will handle it.

MGB: Breaking news -- Quinetin Jackson has been cleared
Dr. Seuss replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
How does one lose $100 on a $50 bet with 100:1 odds? Risk $50 to win $5000. Unless you of course only place/risk dime size bets because we all know $50 is most unlucky bill/bet. Also might wanna place another couple 0's next to the odds, to win CUSA it's at 10,000:1 -
That is correct, Baby G is in Canada

MGB breaking news -- Smiley suspended for SMU game

Whoa, just because some bartender, who I won't name *cough cough* forced blue waves in my face doesn't mean you have to make me an example. -
RV was probably the only AD who designed the uniforms, Littrell and Harrell will be designing them

MGB: A name to keep in mind in AD search: Wren Baker

Seems too good to be true -
The only reason why I havent renewed my season tickets today is because of CTE. I will however renew my GMG membership this week.

Yes, RV wasn't allowed to fire anyone after his fiasco with him firing McCarney. It's been pretty clear from that point on that RV and Smatty were on two different pages.

When a new CEO comes in, they don't clean house and scare people about having a job. The tell them about their vision for the program and what their expectations are. The ones that want to learn and change with their new leader, will. The ones that don't change will just have to change employers; change will happen in some way or form. I'm not saying no one will be fired or leave but the reason why we're where we are is because of RV. Now he's gone, most people in the Athletic Dept are happy to learn and develop their careers from someone else. I do see guys like Capper leaving. He'll bring some of his guys in but I don't see him cleaning house.

As my great econ professor, Mr. Ellis told me, "There's no such thing as a free lunch." Opportunity cost is a vital cost for the consumer.

Not Litrell's Fault But This Has To End.
Dr. Seuss replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
I don't know who you are, but I like you. You my friend, speak the truth, and I appreciate that -
According to Boston Univeristy, It's the small repetitive head impacts that lead to CTE, not the concussions. Concussions still pay an effect, but not to the effect the small repetitive hits to the head. Agan, that's how I interpreted the medical review. So much truth in this post. That's why I believe we can still have a civil thread about something other than what directly impacts UNT, but as a society as a whole.

Again, what about the 18 year old high school student? Are we going to assume that he took steroids too? Or his he just the unicorn....
-
Completely agree
-
That's a lot easier said than done.
-
I completely agree with you. The NFL doesn't care about safety, history has shown it. People thought they could be because the were non-profit but now there in the for-profit business. It is sad, and the more stuff I'm reading is making me want to cancel my season tickets. Nothing to do with RV and the program but the sport as a whole. I don't like to compare what happened in the past, you can't change it. We can only change the future

Holding onto Wallace is like keeping Benford. The guy has been here for 4 years and hasn't done anything on the field. It's time to move on. Simply, the kid doesn't know how to play. That's not coming from me, that's coming from all of his former teammates.

Thank you for all of your insight to network programming. I really appreciate it.
