Crown plaza downtown is around $100, it's on the corner of elm and griffin. Which is only a couple blocks north of the Omni if you want to stay downtown. Nothing special about the hotel but your paying for the location

No worries, my guess would be something in the Omni. They have an awesome sports bar called The Owners Box, I don't think it will be busy on NYE. Could see something there, but I'm just throwing it out there. My assumption is that they would have something out 2 weeks before the game

Saban has been offered a 10 year 120 million dollar contract from UT. This is coming from my parents CPA who is a big UT alum, but has bigger friends... We'll see if it's true but that's quite a bit of money for a coach

Victory plaza isn't in the same area as the Omni. Victory is in uptown, and Omni is in downtown. Clyde park, west end, el centro is in between the two

The attendance isn't bad for the game, the camera isn't showing the home side, which is actually pretty full ( lower bowl). The visitor side, which has 5+ sections is empty, but then 4+ sections full of students

Students will find a way to go if they spend $10 or $125. It's an effing LOCAL bowl game. You're not asking them to spend $600 on flight and hotel plus expenses. It's $75 max, that's a steal for a bowl game.
