Do you know of the other coaches or do you only know them because they're current head coaches? Mike Norvell would be prime but I think he might cost too much, he's one of the top paid coordinators. He's been following Todd Graham since 2007 and he's only 33. Did you know that Frank Wilson was in serious consideration for the head coaching job at Troy last year? Neal Brown got the job, he coached at Troy under Larry Blankeney before his most recent job at Kentucky. If you think UNT has a better football program than Troy, please stop. He's not actively seeking jobs, I believe this means that he's looking to stay and coach in the south. That only helps UNTs chance of getting him. Like Harry said, we should only have coaches here for 2-3 years. Hopefully they will get another job or if they bring us to new championships. More donations should start coming in and we might be able to afford him for a couple more years until an SEC job pops up. Then, we can find another HC who can keep us at that level and hopefully we'll be paying coaches $1.5 a year.

He's making more now than what we'll be able to pay him as a head coach.... Ah, I agree, I dont think he'll come here.

Alabama Neal Troy- Troy Dino Babers- Bowling Green Current assistants in the south: David Gibbs- Texas Tech Frank Wilson- LSU Mike Norvell- Arizona State Robb Smith- Arkansas Todd Orlando- Houston Kevin Clune- WKU Current assistants not in the south: John Baxter: Michigan Matt Canada: NC State Mike Elko: Wake Forest My favorite is Frank Wilson out of LSU. He's from Louisiana, been one of the best recruiters, not to mention we've done really well getting players out of Louisiana and Mississippi. UNT's biggest problem has been recruiting, he's one of the best and he's in our price range. He makes $600k as an assistant, one of the highest in college football. I believe we could get him at around 900k plus incentives. If you want to get the best players, you have to find the best recruiter, he's it.

I would say that he learned from his mistakes at Ole Miss, I know he changed a lot of things. Mac was unable to change, that was his biggest problem.

Look at TCU and Baylor, they stuck with the Texas ties and look where they are. If you can recruit a QB, you can change an entire program. Yes, good recruiters will do that, you just don't have to waste time and money looking outside of Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma.

Go look at TCU's roster, 80% of the players are from Texas. Why waste the money and recruit nationally when there's plenty of talent in the state? McNulty was one of Iowa's top QB's coming out of high school yet he couldn't even start for Allen this year. High school kids want to play for a winning program, its that easy. If you win games better players from the area will come, you just have to find a way to win first.

I know these aren't popular choices but what about Joe Moglia out of Coastal Carolina? I use to work at TD Ameritrade, nothing but great things about him. He's turned Coastal Carolina around, I believe they're going into the Sun Belt? I mean, if Joe Ricketts and him could turning TDA into a billion dollar company and Coastal Carolina into a top FCS team, why cant he do the same here?

What about Ed Orgeron, he doesn't have the Texas ties but he was able to go 6-2 as the interim head coach at USC. He's the D-Line coach at LSU. You cant have your blindfolds on another defensive head coach because of Mac. He had success at USC in 2013, not Iowa State back in 2003.

Our facilities aren't that great.. Nothing to brag about, they're average against G5 schools and bottom 90% for P5 schools

You don't have to pay them 100% of what is left on their contact. That would only happen if they don't get another job. Every contact has a clause in which if they get another job and their current salary isn't greater than or equal to the old contract amount, the previous school is only held liable for the difference. Example, Mac gets another job and he makes 300k, we would only owe him 300k. His base is around 600k and you wouldn't have to pay the incentives.

I've been a member since I graduated and I've always donated more than I needed to. I don't care about the thanks, they just don't know how to do their jobs. Coleman was great, I'm also friends with him but he left.

Thanks to those who stopped by my tailgate on Saturday. The ponies are quite upset that I had more people than expected. I really didn't want to make anyone mad but the owner of the spot was great and he's a class act. I had a great time and it's always good when all the old players I know stopped by.

I hate to say this but I haven't even renewed my season tickets yet........ I've also never received a phone call about it either. I'm want a change but my little donations wont change anything.

We came back down 27-3 and we came back and actually won a game... I don't think we'll ever be able to have a comeback like that again

I'd like to think I have one of the better tailgate menus. I've cooked everything from Leg of Lamb gyros, vareity of sliders, pork tenderloin kbobs, fajitas, all different kinds of sides, the list goes on. A large group of us tailgate with the Buyers family and we have a "flying worm" flag.
