  1. Yes I condone cut blocking because it is part of the game and I do not want to see how the game would be effected if the cut block is removed for the game. Another article that talks about cut blocking written during the same time frame as the article you linked that goes into how the game would change if cut blocks were outlawed. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2012/12/04/cut-blocks-army-navy-air-force-georgia-tech/1746437/
  2. The article you linked was on pro football teams that used the cut block during games but did not cut block in practice. Unless Army's head football coach has changed his coaching style since he left Georgia Southern I would have to say that he has his team using the same blocking schemes in practice as he uses in games. I would expect Navy,Air Force and Georgia Tech do the same. Now if you could link an article where one of these teams did not cut block in practice it would be a different story.
  3. This was during a press conference several years after the Tides game against Georgia Southern.
  4. Nick Sabin on Army HC offense when he was head coach at Georgia Southern.
  5. I have not followed UNT much since my family member graduated from UNT but I had to come back and check out the reaction to your AD's remarks. To my knowledge your AD's remarks are not new but he is the first to come out and say them. As a Georgia Southern fan what your AD said is nothing new to us, he is just the first to come out a say it publicly. Army will not have any problem getting someone else to play them. What your AD said publicly is that we do not want to play any team that runs a certain type of offense. Well the Mean Green will no longer schedule any football games against Air Force, Navy, Georgia Southern, Georgia Tech and possibly Coastal Carolina if they go to the same offense that there new offensive coordinator ran at his last job. With the success that the above teams have had running the spread triple option it would not surprise me if 5 to 10 other schools are running it in the next few years. The only thing that has stopped it from being ran by more schools is that the coaching tree that can put the system into play is still fairly small but slowly growing. .
  6. CUSA will only add 1 if they lose 3 to go to 12 members. If lose only 1 then will only add 1 to get back to an even number of members. If 2 members are lost CUSA will not add any new members and stay at 12. ArkSt and Georgia Southern will not move to CUSA due to the fact that the move will be seen as a lateral move. CUSA best bet to accept an invitation is Texas State or Georgia State. Just my opinion.
  7. From the Bowl press release with be a Sun Belt vs Mountain West matchup thru 2019. http://novaarizonabowl.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/2016-Press-Release.pdf
  8. Looks like CUSA is now a backup to fill this bowl. http://novaarizonabowl.com/ http://www.fbschedules.com/ncaa/college-football-bowl-schedule.php
  9. I feel like this is one thing that the Sun Belt conference accomplished with the addition of Coastal Carolina. Like for conference members to be close but not too close that it looks like that they are on top of each other such as most of the MAC conference. Yes the Sun Belt conference stretches from the Carolina's to Texas with some gap's in-between. From next years Sun Belts men's and women's basketball team I would like to know what the travel cost saving to each member will be in comparison to last years cost. In next years schedule Texas State and UTA only have to send their teams to Alabama 1 time. They play both Troy and USA during that one trip. Only have to travel to Georgia one time. Play Georgia Southern and Georgia State both during that one trip. Only one trip to the Carolina's where they will play both AppSt and Coastal Carolina.
  10. Remember as of July 1, Coastal Carolina is a member of the Sun Belt conference.
  11. Coastal Carolina is increasing their stadium capacity to the low 20,000's with the move up to FBS.
  12. Also if I am not mistaken the word out of the Alabama & Georgia Camp here on the state line between the two is that we are about to enter a recruiting dead period during the bowl season where recruits cannot be contacted. Smart will uses this time to get his coaching staff together so that he can hit the ground runner after the dead period ends.
  13. 2006 Played Florida BCS Champ 2008 Played Florida BCS Champ 2009 Played Alabama BCS Champ in SEC Title game 2010 Played Auburn BCS Champ 2011 Played LSU in SEC title game who lost to Alabama in the BCS title game 2012 Played Alabama in SEC title game. Alabama BCS Champs 2013 Played Auburn who lost to Florida State in the BCS title game. 7 out of last 8 years of BCS played the BCS winner or runner-up during the season.
  14. Yes Richt, has never coached in a BCS title game but what other coach has to play 2 out of the above listed team in Billy post ever year then has had to turn around and play another 2 from your list in the conference title game. Richt team averages playing in the SEC title game one out of every three years since he has been HC. Name me another coach that has had to play the BSC champ 6 out of the last 8 BCS years and one of the other 2 years the BSC runner-up.
  15. This is not the first time Georgia fans have wanted Richt gone but they are demanding that Schottenheimer (OC) is fired immediately. Richt could live to see another day by firing Schottenheimer. The problem is that Richt just signed an extension and Schotty has 2 years left on his contract. I don't know how much they would owe Richt but I know they owe Schottenheimer $1.9 million if they fire him. So UGA may be stuck with this situation another year while it becomes financially easier to fire them.
