Applewhite hasn't been at Houston since 2018... when he left with a 15-11 record... i hardly think he is the one to blame

Sources: Pac-12, Mountain West football don't reach deal for '25

I was about to say, we need to get on the phone and schedule one of them, but then realized we already have Wazzou on the schedule to visit Denton -
Back to the actual topic, I agree with the original poster, this is a huge win... For everyone that is unsure of how they feel about this defense/team, consider this... over the last 21 years (not including Saturday), UNT has only won 5 games against their first FBS opponent of the season (UTEP 2022, SMU 2018, Idaho 2013, Ball St. 2009, MTSU 2005). As silly as it sounds, the road to a winning season is a LOT easier when you start things off with a victory. Props to coach Morris and let's keep it rolling.

if you're argument is "once the head of their football program leaves, they won't be good" it's not a great argument

***OFFICIAL UNT vs. SOUTH ALABAMA IN-GAME DISCUSSION***
golfingomez replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I would say that two touchdowns is a comfortable win... -
I still want a better understanding of what happened on NT's 'blocked punt' touchdown. thanks to terrible camera work and a low sound level, i was very confused. Happy... but confused.

Who would be on UNT's Mount Rushmore?
golfingomez replied to cousin oliver's topic in Mean Green Football
in reality, you can make this list however you want... Joe Greene has to be on it, then it's just a matter of personal taste -

South Bama 7 point favorites against UNT
golfingomez replied to Jonnyeagle's topic in Mean Green Football
I've never thought of South Alabama as a 'bad team' they've been competitive for the past 4 years... which is basically where we've been, and you can argue the Sun Belt has been a better conference a couple of those years -
if nothing else, assuming these numbers are accurate... at least we have more size this year

GM of football? Glad we can get another old a cush salary on the backs of 18-22 year olds... Can we just start paying the players a salary?

FIU... the most confusing naming rights ever
golfingomez replied to golfingomez's topic in Mean Green Football
let's feed the rumors and make it even more confusing for everyone Mean Joe Greene Stadium... then we can say... 'Well, actually, the team was called the Mean Green by some before Mean Joe was here... but actually, Mean Joe bought the naming rights for the stadium... so it actually IS named after him... but not in an honorary measure... he paid for it...'
