this is an interesting statement, because the AAC is not as tough as we thought going in... UTSA is struggling, Tulane is not as strong as they were last year, UAB is having coaches meltdown on the sidelines... I would think the expectation for North Texas is that this team should improve throughout the year (new coaches, still implementing what they want to do). i think there's opportunity to win most games left on the schedule, which i wasn't sure of in July(I thought we would only win games over the first half of the season). All that to say, Morris has a lost of room to impress with the remaining schedule and i hope he does.

i will say, in all seriousness, this was a wild-ass year of baseball and with about 10 games left in the season, i was sure the Astros were going to miss the playoffs. The Rangers did not only get the bad luck of not winning the division, but the Jays also lost (purposefully?) and not the Rangers have to face the Rays instead of the Twins.

La tech v utep was an ugly game but la tech was clearly the better team. Backup QBs for both teams and utep was down to their fourth QB at the end.. see below for an exciting QB comparison at halftime

actually, beyond hellz yeah, i do really want to give the AD props, they have done a good job of getting our slate looking like a real FBS schedule for the next few years I love the next 7 years of non-conference. even the P5 schools we play are all winnable games. If Army joins the AAC i hope we get a good replacement and we still need an FCS for 28, but those are the only "holes" in our schedule during this time period

With our win last week, we avoided a winless season, have we ever had one? I checked sports reference, which confirms this, but it only goes back to 1953 Just with a little research, Texas A&M, SMU, TCU, and Baylor look like our Texas brethren that have suffered this distinction.
