the most direct answer would be: a.) he's the guy that has to replace THE GUY (who had left the roster about as stacked as possible) b.) he started off on just about the worst possible foot after his first 2 games c.) he turned a team that had experienced a 5 year run of really good basketball into a team that didn't reach .500... d.) to compound that, this was a team that about 95% of UNT fans were expecting to be, one of, if not our best ever when you take those items and throw in the fact that his start this year was less than stellar, most fans, myself included, have just shut down and waited for him to be canned... if he was in a different scenario, he might have been the right guy, but he walked into a very tough scenario and didn't produce immediately, which is what was needed

I think i officially lost faith last year during the UTA game, when I thought we played an amazing first 10-12 minutes of the game... running up and down the court and attacking... and then watched as we played 4 corners after that as the Mavs stomped us

In it's most basic form, he has failed to turn our athletes into winners... or motivate them properly to be able to win games... he has also failed to bring in talent to address needs of the team... i have no doubt the man 'understands' basketball and knows how to put players through workouts and prepare them with gameplans... as you have said thousands of people in the US can do this... but the difference between a good coach and a Tony Benford is the ability to capture victories... without W's i could care less about how great his prepwork and practices are... I want to see results

i'm still very confused as to what is the point of Andrew's argument that nobody cares about the program... is this supposed to make me feel better? are you trying to say that only people on the board and the people in attendance care about the program? in which case, about 80-90% of the people on this board want him gone and the dwindling attendance reflects the same?

that's the difference in a fan being able to see a program on the rise vs seeing a program that has an anchor holding it back from progressing... i personally am not going to any basketball games because this is the most effective way to show RV that i do not support this higher...

that's a nice way to say it to the media that the AD kicked him out of the arena for the remainder of the season
