Games to Watch. Magic Number to a Bowl Game
golfingomez replied to shaft's topic in Mean Green Football
so TCU needs to be un-bolded right now, as they would need to lose two games to be out of contention. seems hard that all those teams would win... let's just beat UTEP and go bowling. GMG!!! -
i hated the black pants we wore this weekend
-
lol

that's true... I might as well be running the wishbone with my lack of creative thought... but seriously, can someone photoshop Morris on Fine's shoulders?
-
is this game on TV?

What if we put Fine on Morris' shoulders... the defense wouldn't know who was going to throw the ball!!!

Predict the North Texas / Southern Miss score
golfingomez replied to Matt from A700's topic in Mean Green Football
On Saturday, in Denton, the Mean Green fired their head coach immediately after their 33-30 win over Southern Miss. When asked for comment on the move, AD Wren Baker said, "We won, and Alec had a big day. The search for a new coach will begin tomorrow." what if we win the next two games, with Morris throwing for 450 yards, 1 TD and 3 INT's? -
the Crazy/baffling thing about NCAA basketball, is that you can completely turn a team into a winner in one offseason, yet Benford has managed to play sub-.500 ball continually... Now we have been stuck with Benford for so long, we have a game against TTU, who we used to beat, and can't even get a full page of comments on this board's game thread... so sad... Anyone want to give an update on how many days it has been since Huntsville?

I was at the game, and it really boils down to a lot of what we were all concerned about at the beginning of the year, Depth. We played really well at the beginning of the year and the sum was more than the parts, all that crap. When you run up against WKU, who was bigger and faster, it's the tenth game of the year, you traveled a long way, it's cold, and your QB get's knocked out in the first half (After you learned your RB is done), you start looking at a thinner and thinner roster. WKU had no problem using four receivers, changing out defensive players and showing their top level players. You could tell WKU was conscious of our team being tired and beat up as they started just running the ball up the gut with five minutes left in the first half. (Thankful to the WKU coach for not embarrassing us when he could have). I'm hopeful we have enough gas in the tank to squeak out the last two wins, but it will be an amazing effort by a ragtag bunch if they do.

any chance they are packaged with better defense?

i moved to Nashville this summer and am excited to see my Mean Green on the road. Catching a ride with some WKU folks I've met and was hoping to maybe spend a qtr or two with some NT fans

I remember when this hire was made and he was making all those dumb 'Row the Boat' videos i just considered him to be a poor man's version of coach Bro and he would soon fail. but, his team is 8-0, has beaten two big ten programs and the only close game has been against Northwestern in the season opener. It gives me hope that we can make a similar turn in 3-4 years... Now the depressing part is this...http://www.mlive.com/broncos/index.ssf/2016/11/western_michigan_fans_not_doin.html Their crowd situation sounds very similar to ours and i can only hope that we don't end up in the same scenario.

Problem is, MTV still works because it adjusted to what the market wanted. It realized only so many people would keep their TV's on for the same 50 videos. they morphed into show's that develop followers and more subscribers. They kept their attention on the younger demographic and are still relevant because of it. ESPN's has multiple problems. They are spread VERY thin. 4 'main' ESPN channels (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNnews and ESPNU) plus ancillary channels (SEC Network, Longhorn Network). This makes college football their cash cow and makes ad revenue sales tougher and tougher when they are programming against themselves with potentially 7 games at the same time(technically ABC, as well). On top of this, they have made a large step forward with WatchESPN. It is both fantastic and detrimental at the same time. It gives TONS of people the excuse to not pay for cable and simply utilize someone else's subscription info as their pass to watch sports online (through multiple devices connected to their TV's). Without the unbelievable reliability and accessibility of WatchESPN (which i am almost positive they aren't generating enough ad revenue through, due to terrible survey data on who's watching) it's getting tougher and tougher to tighten up and keep dollars from traditional cable/satellite subscriptions. The NFL is sliding back probably due to 2 factors, the market correction in terms of growing viewers every year for the past ten years, and the spreading of games to all times of the week.

Army up 21-10 with under three minutes left.
-
Army/Wake Forest deadlocked at 7-7 in the third qtr. Wake currently sits at 5-2 after a surprising start to the year
