I've felt this whole situation around the reinstatement of UAB football was a waste of time. It wasn't UAB that decided it was too expensive to have football, it was the University of Alabama System BOR that DIRECTED UAB to drop football. No way they'd be able to restart football, no matter the cost, with the current crop of Regents in place.

I thought the common bathrooms/concessions area for the soccer stadium and Lovelace were gonna be tied into the overall redevelopment of that area when they (eventually) build the baseball stadium? I'd heard them say it was gonna be a kind of plaza area where that driveway between Lovelace and the soccer field currently is. Also, sorry for my ignorance, but where is the golf practice facility gonna be?

But then it rained like hell and only about 5,000 people (including the graduates) showed up to see McConaughey speak. I feel bad that that happened.

The Great Johnny Quinn was a huge asset to the track team back when. And Brelan ran track his first few seasons. Don't remember if he was still running near the end, I know he had bulked up quite a bit for football by then.

Sa-weet. This will fill at least a page in the 2015 Denton Record-Chronicle Football Magazine.
