Uhh.... The helmets in the video WERE the La Tech game helmets. We aren't getting new black helmets. Just new green sparkle paint ones to match the new uniform color and a new SOW sticker with a black outline.

And then there is TAPPS, which literally is the Wild West. There are practically no rules, and schools openly recruit players. Football isn't as bad as basketball, yet. Look at how many high profile highly-recruited basketball kids bounce from school to school to school.

Uniforms designs every few years. Two people on GMG have the same thought about the same thing and start patting each other on the back. Athletic department tries to do a big reveal but doesn't really. UNT fans get something cool but it blows up in their face.

I'm hopeful to see how the green uniforms look with the new boat paint metal flake sparkle green helmets (which I love and look awesome). I don't really like the look of the 2014 Homecoming black helmets with the dark grey stripe along with the new green uniforms. Road whites should look killer with the new sparkle green helmets.

Bout 10 minutes on the Nike Uniform Builder web site... Green jerseys and pants are Nike Gunner Game style. If Mach Speed is the top of the line, these are 8th down the line. Page 17 of the Nike Team football uniform catalog. White pants look to be just a white version of the same Gunner Game pants. Sleeve stripe style is called "Speed Stripe", number font is called "Scaled Full Block" and the Mean Green word mark is of course, our own UNT font. White jerseys are probably Mach Speed, since that's the only ones that you can have what Nike calls a "Home Plate" right under the collar. And the only jerseys that can do the big block color shoulder. On the Nike website you can't get a triangle shaped "Home Plate", but that's just the web site. Looks like the number font for the white jersey may be their font called "Cougars" or "Morgantown", but could also just as likely be something that ain't on the web site. So when we play SMU and Tennessee we will be wearing the tip top o the line jersey that Nike makes and the same thing that Oregon, Ohio State, TCU, Michigan State, etc wear. Here's what the "Home Plate" looks like on the Oregon uniforms. So it looks like it basically just fills in the triangle shaped mesh area between the main chest panels.
