  1. 1st floor of the GAB: it's where I met my wife.
  2. Dickey at least played QB at K-State and could teach a thing or two.
  3. Dunno. That's a head scratcher ain't it?
  4. I DVR'd the game and am watching it at 6am because I'm a masochist. When it was 28-3 in the 2nd quarter after that wide open 88yd TD pass by the Hawkeyes, one of the ESPN-U announcers said Iowa's offense against was "like the Death Star against Alderaan." That stings worse than anything that happened on the field.
  5. Well... At least the Astros won...
  6. THIS^^^^^^^^ That has been a thorn in my side since the second it happened: Not because of anything to do with McNulty though. He hadn't given us a reason to lose hope when he was taking snaps at that point in time. But because it should have been Lance Dunbar's privilege to have the first Mean Green TD in Apogee.
  7. Yeah the Ponycopter landed and then Morris had a car take him from the chopper to the gate.
  8. Normal Building opened in 1891 and burned down after being struck by lightning in 1907. It was right where Hickory Hall is now. The first President's House was built on the site of the Normal Building in 1909 and was there until the new President's house was built on Ave D in 1956. That house was where the Gateway Center is now. Hickory Hall was built on the site of the Normal Building and the first President's House in 1959, and originally named the Industrial Arts Building. Old Main was built in 1903 next to the Normal Building and was the second building on campus. It basically wasn't built well and was falling apart after just 20 years and was torn down in 1923 to make way for the new Administration Building, which is now called the Auditorium Building. Old Main housed the library until Curry was built in 1912. Curry was originally called the Library Building and then later called the Historical Building. Curry had the library until 1937 when the new Library Building was built. That building is now called Sycamore Hall. It was also called Information Sciences for most of the last few decades. It was held the campus library until 1970 when Willis Library opened, built on the former site of Eagle Park, where North Texas played football until 1953 when Fouts Field opened. I had to do so much research for our 125th Anniversary magazine. Which if you haven't seen can be read online here! I made sure we got Don January and Billy Maxwell on the cover in their team shirts with the awesome early 50s NTSC golf team logo. http://issuu.com/lmcbride/docs/unt_125_anniversary
  9. Brint Ryan is only like 51. I think we still have a while to go before/if he becomes out Joe Jamail. Since one of our other richest alums wants nothing to do with us anymore.
  10. New York Sub Hub isn't a sandwich... It's a religious experience.
  11. Ban freshmen who live on campus from having cars. Boom. So many problems solved. Freshmen can't scurry home on the weekends back to mom n dads to have them do their laundry (and with these helicopter kids these days, homework too) so they're stuck on campus. They'll go to games and tailgating. They'll frequent local businesses even more than they do now. They'll be more involved with on-campus things and develop a deeper connection with their university. They'll learn to be on their own more too. Pretty much ever other major university our size and larger does this. It's stupid that we don't ban freshmen who live in dorms from having cars on campus. And a lot of what I've seen on twitter about parking problems has to do with kid being pissy that they show up to campus 10 minutes before class and can't find a spot right across from their class. Or that they got back to their dorm at 3am and had to go park at Fouts. THAT is not a new problem.
  12. It's also in the rotation on the digital billboard behind Paradise Liquor in Corral City at 407 and 35W.

  14. Spend all 5.5 million on a new slick locker room to attract the players we need to win.
  15. I think this dude has a more believable story: I'll be arriving via my gold flying saucer.
