Question for older alumni and lifelong fans
pastorgrant replied to Matt from A700's topic in Mean Green Football
I would take full salary and make the school step up. You can't keep letting the admins get away with mediocrity and expect greatness. Then I'd raise more money and they would get what they are paying for plus a lot more. I say all this recognizing that I am in no way qualified for that job. But if I was, this would be my thinking on it. -
Question for older alumni and lifelong fans
pastorgrant replied to Matt from A700's topic in Mean Green Football
I doubt they're scouring the gmg board for candidates, but FBS ADs make in the range on 515k on average. If I were in the market for that kind of job, I'd be looking for a competitive salary. -
I voted a B. I do really like the hire, but I was not wanting to grade based on expectations tempered by a little program mentality (i.e. me voting an A+ would mean we hired someone like Urban Meyer or Jim Harbaugh). Out of the names floated around, I like this hire as much as anyone. Still way too early to know much, but I'm hopeful again after being pretty run down by the last 2 years.

What the hell is going on with Club Seats?
pastorgrant replied to UNT90's topic in Mean Green Football
How can you possibly be so easily offended? -
Thanks. Thoughts on this?

If recruiting is indeed the #1 priority for this hire...
pastorgrant replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I think we are actually the 4th largest metro area in the US: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Metropolitan_Statistical_Areas They may talk to Mac, but I am guessing they understand that if someone gets fired, especially after getting stomped by an FCS team like it was Cowboys, they will likely have a slanted perspective on the situation. -
I was so disappointed when he left. We definitely lost a special talent in him.

UNT/Tennessee predictions (GIFs only)
pastorgrant replied to Matt from A700's topic in Mean Green Football
Same here. How do I post a gif? I'm guessing my attachment quota was set in 1996. -
If you support both, why not use a UNT moniker and avitar? Do you wear a UTSA jersey to Apogee and root for the Mean Green? This ain't rocket surgery. Support UNT when you are here.

Minority coaches that deserve a shot
pastorgrant replied to Coach Bill Lewis's topic in Mean Green Football
The coach's race shouldn't be a factor at all. -
North Texas Head Football coach job posting
pastorgrant replied to dml7007's topic in Mean Green Football
What is the basis for your confidence? -
I don't know enough about the guy to speak with authority on him, but he won at Kansas. He is the only coach who has been able to do that in my lifetime and that says something to me.

Aren't many QBs who wouldn't be 0-2 in the same situation.

RV needs to go, but public shaming is an awful thing.

A look at 6 potential candidates for UNT's vacancy
pastorgrant replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I would be extatic if we got Christobal. That guy is a heck of a coach. -
It's Happened Again...a Violation Of Your Privacy
pastorgrant replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
I know RV needs to move on. But I also know that if I am saying something negative about a person, he has the right to know about and address my complaints. -
Been a fan since my freshman year, 2000. I've had some great times cheering the ol' Mean Green

If this is the best talent we have at QB
pastorgrant replied to UNT90's topic in Mean Green Football
I think if our QB could throw the ball, we would. Also, I agree we need to clean house, starting at the top. I am losing interest in this team and that's saying something. -
Hopefully, having some more weapons for McNulty to throw to will make this a bad plan for them.
-
I really have no clue. I will take a shot in the dark and say NT 31 SMUg 21.

Not conceding defeat at all, but I thought next Saturday would be an easy one and it looks like we need to seriously bring it.
-
Wow, this is not what I expected. Next Saturday will be tough, even if Baylor has fallen a lot.
