  4. So confused by this post.
  5. I wonder if part of the game plan was geared toward figuring out exactly what he has and doesn't have. Just thinking out loud.
  6. I want so bad to give you +1 for this.
  7. If we see that improvement, though, we won't need any excuses. The game plan didn't work out, but you saw the coaches adapt and the team make improvements. That was within one game. In the course of the season we will see a lot more improvement, and we won't be hearing all the excuses OR coach-bashing we are hearing now. It's just so easy to react emotionally after a game like that, especially given the beating fans have taken for the last several years. Go Mean Green
  8. TCU up 48-47 4 minutes to go
  9. In a few years, the WAC will mean about as much to people as Studebaker does.
  10. This is turning into a fantastic recruiting class, and it's just getting warmed up.
  11. Great post, thank you emmitt01. +1 from me.
  12. One thing I saw this last game gives me a ton of hope—they made adjustments and it worked. The first quarter, we looked like we didn't belong on the same field as FIU. But that changed and before it was all said and done, we were moving the ball, putting the team in scoring opportunities, and making some big stops on D. If we hadn't gotten off to such a slow start, that game would have been competitive. And with so much youth on the team and a new coach, that kind of a first quarter of the first game shouldn't be that surprising. I know that I have a reputation for being a perennial optimist, which I am when it comes to this team/coaching staff, but I just think it's ridiculous how many people are wanting to throw this whole season away already. I'm wearing a UNT T-Shirt and flip flops today and am still sipping on my green kool-aid. It's tasty. Do I think we'll be in a bowl game this year? No. But we will win some games and it will be a hell of a lot more fun than in the last few years, especially with Apogee Stadium. I picked us to go 5-7 and I'm sticking with that. If we lose to FAU and are at that time 0-6, then I'll pack up my optimism for this season and set it on the shelf until next off season. We are probably looking at an 0-5 start, maybe 1-4 if everything goes right, 2-3 would be a miracle, but there's a lot of games we have a good shot of winning after that. Don't give up, my green buddies. GMG!
  13. Chaz Sampson, don't think he played, but my screen was pretty pixelated so I could have missed him.
  14. If you think about it, this is one of the more positive things about that terrible game last night. We played much better once the offense opened up a bit. I was so frustrated with the game plan last night for the first half. I doubt they make that mistake again. Thompson did look scared at times, but made some good throws. He needs some time to get used to it being the guy. If he doesn't work out, there is still Osborn and McNulty.
  15. IMO many of you are writing this team off way too quickly. We played one terrible quarter with a young team and a brand new coach against a talented veteran team. The rest of the game we played competatively. The offense went nowhere while we were running every play against 8-9 in the box, but moved ok once we opened it up, this will only get better. The defense figured it out too. Thompson played well. Chancellor was an absolute beast. Dunbar will have a great season. The O-Line seemed to me to be our biggest problem, but they got it together too after a bit. Receiver core is a question mark, but we at least can count on Chancellor. How does this mean we will be #120 At the end of the year? Waaaaaay too early for that kind of talk. With this schedule, even if we start 0-5 with 5 bad losses, we could end up 5-7. This team will be respectable before all is said and done this year.
  16. Don't know how ours are any more simple than FIU's new unis. For the record, I think FIU's new unis are pretty sweet. At least they will look good when we beat them tomorrow.
  17. My gut says NT pulls out a squeaker. NT - 31 FIU - 27
  18. #32 Justin Hailey Semus Finnigan
  19. Mega dittos!
  20. He may have had surgery, but I am still convinced that at least it's partly that his future is so bright.
  21. Dangerously close to making another conference realignment thread.
  22. It's great to not see this list full of Sunbelt teams. The Belt has come a long way.
  23. Haikus are easy but sometimes they don't make sense. Refrigerator. Saw that on her shirt and laughed looking at her chest So embarrassing.
  24. Faculty/Staff was pushing 3500 in 2004 and the school has grown significantly since then. I would bet it is close to 4000 now.
  25. Got there late and missed the intro video... But the stadium is fantastic. Really isn't a bad seat in the house and the wing zone is way bigger in person than in pictures.
