The DMN poll has SMU at #7, which is better than having UTSA there, but not by that much. Both papers are just being good homers and selling papers. Outside of those homer picks, though, I think the polls are both pretty accurate.

Nice to see 2 different papers giving the Mean Green some love. All five of the programs ahead of us are really solid programs.

I know we are full, but Ron Patterson just got released from IU (grades) and would be immediately available to play this year. Seems like a really solid player.

I'm a long time IU fan (though I bleed green). Sampson absolutely wrecked that program with his cheating. Even as one of the "basketball royalty" programs it took a long time before they weren't terrible. I would not be very happy if we hired him. If we are talking IU coaches, Mike Davis would be far better.

I'm very pleased with this class. The way I see it is there is a good mix of overall solid players and players who need development but have a huge upside (like 6'3 track-star corners). With Wintrich I think some of those will turn into big contributors. An excellent class turns out about a dozen top-notch players when all is said and done, and this class could easily have that and more. The belt is getting a lot tougher, though, so we will need that.
