It's hard as a fan not to look at upside and potential more than we should. At least it is for me. Personally, I think that if DW is ready to step up and lead by example in preparation (as he seemed to after some harsh words on Coach Wintrich's reports), then I am willing to struggle through his learning curve and throw him into the deep end in Austin. But, from the practice reports (I haven't been able to attend any practices, so I'm not the best judge), it seems like Greer or MacNulty may give us the best chance to win at the start of this upcoming year and it could be very good for the program to sustain winning football immediately after losing so many key contributors. You can count me in the group that says I believe the coaches will make the right decision and I will choose to expect the best from whoever wins the job.

From the blog it seems like the D is getting pressure on the QB, hopefully that's a good sign for our D-Line.

In the Beyond the Green episode where they focus on Coach Wintrich's program, he talks about how his philosophy is different than a lot of coaches. Typically, they will just try to get people's bench numbers up, but he is focusing on football performance and on field practical strength. In my opinion, his philosophy produced strong, fast, hard hitting football.

The schedule seems a lot easier this year. I don't think the team will be quite as good, but we could hit 9 anyway.

We have had some great walk-ons. I don't mind a bit if we start a bunch of Kenny Buyers, Chris Hurd, and Casey Fitzgeralds.

As someone who is disinterestedly ignorant of UT football, I would like to know more about him. All I know about Texas is that they have all the money, get whatever recruits they want, and they under perform. How does Akina relate to that? Do the UT DBs always do well?

I looked it up and you're right, but I do remember thinking that we hadn't moved the ball that well since the rain started. The way I see it though, we have options and if he wins the job, he will deserve it. I know a lot of people don't trust Coach Mac to choose a QB, but I do. That said, I'm pulling for DW and hope to see Greer if not Dajon.

I still think McNulty looked brilliant for the one time he had an opportunity to let loose last year against Georgia. Went 5-6 and the only incomplete was a drop. It was just one drive, but he was placing the ball perfectly, even on the run and had plenty of mustard on it. Not enough sample size, but I liked what I saw.

I voted DW, but that's about 50% wishful thinking. My preference would probably be Greer second. I do think Mini Mac is better than we give him credit for, and will surprise us if he gets the nod.

Anyone know where I can see the highlights?
