USAtoday college fb countdown (SMU must beat UNT)
pastorgrant replied to GOMG2013's topic in Mean Green Football
#127 is FIU, not FAU. FAU should be pretty good this year. -
Because we hate the LongWhores, none taken in the draft
pastorgrant replied to oldguystudent's topic in Mean Green Football
I don't understand. -
I would have been way too conflicted had that happened.

I'm still of the opinion we beat ourselves last year. We can win this, we just need to play better.

Time to revive "The Eyes of North Texas"

How about a T-shirt with a picture of Coach Skladaney polishing off a huge T-bone? -
Maybe they saw their players flipping off the fans at Apogee?

MGB: UNT post-spring depth chart, thoughts
pastorgrant replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
I don't know how much things have changed, but we seemed significantly bigger than IU when they came to Apogee -
Didn't the Green team QBs throw for something like 400 yards w/o an INT?

I'm so confused by this.

April 17 - "Dallas Day" for Thompson & Orr
pastorgrant replied to jdennis82's topic in Mean Green Football
I wonder if Dwayne Harris will keep Brelan from a chance with the Cowboys. Some other teams would benefit a lot more from Brelan. He'll get his shot, though, and some NFL team will have a killer return man. Hope it's nobody from the NFC East if it's not the Cowboys. -
The guy has some nice guns, but his posture looks a little stiff.

Don't think he could have avoided that one. Greer should have pulled it in instead of trying the handoff in that situation.

Didn't see a lot of Evans, but other than the fumble, he looked fantastic. He will be huge for us. I thought MacNulty looked good, he was hitting guys in stride and even threw a couple of good passes downfield. His arm looks stronger to me than it used to. He had one embarrassing fumble but no INTs (unless it was in the first few minutes, which I missed). I thought he looked better than Greer most of the time, but both are decent QBs. Means has something and with some time could be a really good QB for us but he isn't ready yet.

Who is your favorite UNT Assistant Football Coach?
pastorgrant replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I chose Skladany, but it was a really tough choice between him and Wintrich. I went with our grey wizard because of the way he has the team wrapping up so well. Our tackling woes in previous years was a real pet peeve of mine, but we tackle as well as any team I've seen now and it makes a huge difference. -
Fair enough. I can respect that as long as you come and eat your crow if MacNulty ends up the starter and we put together a good season.

There's a big difference between realizing we have a tough hill to climb and saying we will go three and out every series in Austin. I agree with your whole post here, but 97and03's post I was responding to was 150% hyperbole, in my opinion. No need for that kind of negativity.

I'm not sure Riley had anywhere near MacNulty's arm after he busted his shoulder.

I don't know what about this current team gives you so little confidence in them.

I don't understand the hate toward SSP at all. I'm thankful to have the info.

He was a true Freshman, and he is not the type of athletic talent to come right out of one year of starting in high school and rock it against a speedy D1 defense. I don't think that's cause to worry.
