  1. Man, everyone attributes all the good quotes to Honest Abe. Every good historian knows that was Calvin Coolidge.
  2. Not saying he did great last year, but he did come in and move the ball in the rain against a top 10 team when DT couldn't. I was also trying to point out that writing someone off as horrible based on one play is a bit silly. I'll take the Georgia game and the Spring game as a better judge of what he has. Though, it still isn't enough to judge. The coaches are in a much better position to judge than we are, or than your mother-in-law is.
  3. If Dajon gets to play, do you think he will put some mustard on it?
  4. Too bad your mother-in-law didn't watch the Georgia game.
  5. Yeah, I was wondering if Coach meant McNulty when he mentioned turnovers and Greer when he mentioned a statue. Hopefully either McNulty will shake off the turnover bug, or it will be Greer. But they each had one turnover in the Spring game, so who knows. My guess is it's Mini Mac and he will play well.
  6. We have heard several times from these coaches (including Wintrich) that Mini Mac out works just about everyone on the practice field and has since he got here. I don't question his work ethic at all, Greer's neither. Both are fighting for a chance to lead a good FBS football team and have strong work ethics, they aren't going to let up. I'd be surprised if either misses out on a shout out.
  7. I've been worried about that too. I'm sticking with my 9-4 I sent in to BV, but my expectations have been tempered and I don't really know what to expect now.
  8. Thanks, that is how I took it way back when, but it is good to see that he spelled it out like that because it places the blame on the coaches and takes the responsibility for fixing it.
  9. Maybe I'm missing something. Didn't he say, "This was the smallest and slowest team in FBS"? That doesn't say what caused the problem, just stated what it was (with some exaggeration). Unless he said something I didn't hear (which is possible), you're assuming he was only talking about recruiting. His actions suggest he thought strength training was part of the problem.
  10. They were here but Dodge wasn't training up our guys properly. When Coach Mac originally said that, I took that as being partly that they were letting the talent they had go to waste with poor nutrition and strength training. It isn't all about what they were when they got here from high school.
  11. These have changed significantly (those weights are from last fall, mostly). Check out the ones I posted, you will be pleased.
  12. What numbers are you using? I don't see any 230 lb DTs: http://www.meangreensports.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/ntex-m-footbl-mtt.html
  13. I don't think anyone is suggesting that.
  14. I completely agree. Coach Mac has done a phenomenal job turning this program around and I love that we have him, but this kind of thing isn't helpful. Others have said the reasons why and I don't think I need to pile on. We need to be generating interest in the program by telling people, "Something special is happening in Denton, you don't want to miss out."
  15. Folks don't know mediocre satire when they see it.
  16. This was all I could find: There are also a couple of highlights of him from the spring game. Looks better in person than on the video, imo.
  17. Looks like Gray is listed as "probable" for our game: http://www.donbest.com/ncaaf/injuries/
  18. I was glad to hear Wallace stepping up. Coach Mac likes to rotate players, especially on defense, so we could see a good rotation with him and Fred Scott. Seems there are lots of good linebackers on this team.
  19. I picked 9-4 too, but I can't pick game by game. Going in to each one I expect us to win (yes, UT too), but I dont think we will win them all.
