  1. ESPN.com is actually tracking the game live for once if you wanna follow, but can't listen.
  2. Good to see I'm not the only one that feels that way. I mean, you literally could not get any less creative with a chant. It's something a 3 year old would say.
  3. What are you implying? They very rarely set lines against D2 teams.
  4. 6 of the top 9 teams in the country are in the SEC. And not a single one of them has lost to a non-SEC team. But yeah, keep telling yourself they're overrated.
  5. So when do you plan to stop pouting?
  6. UAH may very well get smoked tonight. But it is basketball. If one team is on, and the other is not, then anyone can be beat, as we saw last night. Upsets happen in basketball. And I guarantee you Huntsville won't be the worst team we play this year.
  7. We go as our guards(CJ and Alzee) go. Pretty simple. We can probably get away with one of them playing bad, but if they're both playing bad, we won't win many games.
  8. This team is DEFINITELY winning more than 10 games. To think that single digit wins is even a possibility is a comical overreaction. Our guards have been HORRIBLE through 2 games, and I'll be very surprised if that doesn't change, and very quickly. Chris and Alzee are both too good for that trend to continue(7-39 from the field and 10-18 on FTs combined through 2 games). There is obviously reason to be concerned, but when those 2 guys get going, and they will, I promise, this team will start to look like the team we expected them to.
  9. Well last year, the guy that built the Titanic had 2 of the engines fail when were halfway across the Atlantic. At least this year, we're still close enough to shore to go back and get it fixed.
  10. This was about a team thinking that wins would just be handed to them because they are god's gift to basketball. Well, now I think they're quite aware that is not the case. You gotta go out there and play your ass off whether you're playing against Duke, Kentucky, or yes, even Alabama-Huntsville. I'm not making excuses. You should NEVER lose to a Division 2 school. But, in the end, maybe it's a good thing that we did, because hopefully it will wake them up.
  11. Let me preface this by saying that I'm not sure I've ever been more disappointed by a loss, and we have had more tough losses on the gridiron than I care to count. Okay, hear me out. I think by now it's pretty clear that this team bought into their own hype. That is the worst thing you can possibly do as a basketball team. With that being the case, if a loss to a freaking Division 2 school doesn't wake them up, then nothing will. This team better start playing with a hell of a lot more urgency, or things aren't going to get much better. This loss is flat out embarrassing, but I'm not giving up on a basketball team in November. That's foolish. There's way too much basketball left to be played. Keep calm, and Go Mean Green.
  12. http://espn.go.com/b...ip-off-marathon This link says we play at 9 on ESPN2, if we win, of course. I have no idea why they aren't showing our game tonight. They obviously have a crew there anyways for the Kansas State game. Seems like a less than stellar use of resources if you ask me. Anyways, I just thought this may be helpful since that bracket did say if we played at 7 it would only be on ESPN3. Edit: Just realized why they scheduled it that way. The Kansas State game was going to be on TV regardless of whether or not they lost. They are beating the hell out of Lamar, so it will be the championship game that is televised. Go Mean Green!

  13. Take a camera, and livestream the game, please.
  14. He got up and ran off the field, but he still didn't move that arm. I think it was separated.
  15. Waved off the 3. It looked late on the replay. That's big.
  16. Gotta play defense without fouling. And get to the free throw line on the other end.
  17. Jamal Marshall is not redshirting. He's played in every game.
  18. Of course talent development is key, but if you're insinuating that our freshman aren't playing because they need to develop, I'd argue that plenty of teams have a lot of true freshmen and sophomores not only playing, but playing well, and if Dodge's recruits are so bad, then why haven't they been replaced with Mac's new and improved recruits? I think Mac's recruiting is a bigger problem than it's being made out to be. Time will tell though.
  19. Per Rivals 2008: Desmond Brigham (ULM, Missouri), DaWaylon Cook (TCU, Utah, West Virginia), Riley Dodge (Mizzou, Rice, SMU, Texas, Tulsa), Lance Dunbar (Colorado, Oklahoma St, Virginia), Justin Edward (Ole Miss, NM State), Troy Franklin (Colorado St., Tulsa), James Hamilton (Kentucky, ULL, Rice, SMU, Tulsa, UTEP, Washington St.), Joe Hawthorne (Buffalo, ULM, UTEP), Royce Hill(Rice), Gabe Hollivay (Memphis), Alonzo Horton (Kansas St., Southern Miss), Jeremi Mathis (Tulsa), Jeremy Phillips (Army, Duke, Rice, TCU), John Shorter (Iowa St., SMU, Tulsa) 2009: Austin Fitzpatrick (FAU, ULL, New Mexico), Jamaal Jackson (Louisiana Tech), Kelvin Jackson (ULM), Daniel Mayberry (UTEP), Daniel Prior (Iowa St., LA Tech, ULM, Rice, SMU, UTEP), Ira Smith (Ole Miss, LA Tech, UAB), Tyler Washington (LA Tech, SMU, UTEP) 2010: Aaron Bellazin (Buffalo, ULM, New Mexico, San Diego St., SMU, UTEP), Ryan Downing (Northern Illinois), Steven Ford (East Carolina, Kansas St.), Antonio Johnson (ULM), Zach Orr (LA Tech, San Diego St., Tulsa, UTEP), D'Andre Wood (Louisville, Ole Miss, USF, Vanderbilt), Will Wright (UTEP), Mason Y'Barbo (Houston) 2011: Derek Akunne (Air Force, Colorado St., WKU), Cooper Jones (Air Force), Cyril Lemon (FIU, Houston, LA Tech, Mizzou, NM State, Rice), Chad Polk (Baylor), Andrew Power (Memphis, Nevada, Maryland, Tennessee, Utah St.), Chaz Sampson (Pittsburgh, Tulsa, UTEP), Kerry Swarn (Arizona, East Carolina, Iowa), Micah Thompson (Tulsa), Freddie Warner (Colorado St, Utah St), Zac Whitfield (NM St.) Dodge had his problems, but he did a lot better job of out-recruiting other more "prominent" schools, if you will. And don't tell me he didn't recruit linemen because 5 of our 6 offensive linemen(the teams biggest strength) that play were Dodge recruits, and 6 of our 8 defensive linemen that play were Dodge recruits.
  20. Creighton might be the best offensive team in the entire nation. Their weakness is defending. Should be a great opening game. Hopefully they put McDermott on Tony because it would be nice to get him in foul trouble early. For this exact reason, I'd also prefer Tony not guard McDermott early. We can't afford him in foul trouble.
  21. Funny that you say that, because my original post was pretty much telling everyone to move on. And I don't doubt that Mac wants to win. However, he's made it very clear that he wants to win on his terms. That's why you see the exact same gameplan week after week. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't, but it never changes, and I have my doubts that it ever will.
  22. No there isn't. They said they weren't bringing him back because they didn't want 5 scholarship QBs. I'm not speculating. I'm giving you the facts. And while I do love your optimism regarding Coach Mac, I do find it a tad naïve. I'm not saying he's a bad coach, but coaches absolutely hate admitting they're wrong, and he is no different. They are not pulling his scholarship and then letting him play unless something happens to Derek, and even then it's questionable. Support Derek. He's our quarterback whether y'all like it or not.
