I was at the Pro Day, and DeMario had a very impressive 40 time. I don't remember exactly what it was, but it was one of the best of the group.
-
Haha +1 to you sir. I apologize for that. Chris Jones deserves every bit of this thread. He's extremely underrated, IMO. I am very glad he'll be wearing a UNT jersey next season.
-
Coming from someone that has seen him play several times, you're absolutely out of your mind. If he entered the draft THIS year, he'd be a first round lock. Having him until his eligibility is up is a pipe dream. I'll be glad to have him for one year, but there is no way in hell he stays the entire time. He's 6'9" with a ridiculous jumpshot and phenomenal athleticism. Guys with his size and skill set are NOT easy to come by.

No Mitchell will still be a freshman. He didn't play a minute of college basketball this year, so he can technically use his transfer year as his redshirt year. But, no, there isn't a chance in hell that he's here for 3 years, much less 4. I'd go as far as to say I'd be shocked if he stayed 2 years. I'll just be happy if he's on the floor come mid-December.

Although his stats didn't show it, I liked what I saw from Jordan. He has a smooth jumper, and was very active on defense. He also didn't take any shots that weren't within the flow of the offense. He seems like a good team player. I'm anxious to see Chris Jones tonight. I'd be shocked if he wasn't our starting point guard come game one.
-
He's too passive. The guy that's guarding him is significantly smaller than him and he has yet to take advantage of it.
-
Williams has 5 btw. He hit a 3 and had a nice move on a fast break to get a layup.
-
After watching one half of Kimball basketball, it is very apparent to me that Jordan Williams is a better basketball player than Jarion Henry.

Idk all the facts, but as far as I'm concerned, this is the best senior class in Mean Green basketball history. I just want to thank the seniors for putting the UNT basketball program on the national map. Thanks to them, we have a top 30 recruiting class, as well as Tony Mitchell coming in next year. It was a fun ride fellas, and a tough way to go out, but shit happens. Best of luck in the future to the Mean Green seniors of 2011!

I'm off to Fry Street to watch with some Mean Green faithful. A few weeks ago, many of us didn't think this was possible, yet, here we are, one game away from yet another conference championship. To all of you in Hot Springs, bring em home with a trophy. Go Mean Green!
-
Well going off of the ESPN Bracketology, they have us as the best 16 seed, so we'd only need one other team to upset someone in the conference tourney to slip into a 15 slot.
-
I saw someone post that we might be playing a play-in game if we were to win. The basis behind this argument was that in the Bracketology they had Middle Tennessee in a play-in game. Well, even though Middle finished higher in the regular season, their RPI was WELL, and i mean WELL below us. So if we win, I expect either a 15 or 16 seed.
-
How much are tickets for tomorrows game? If we win I plan on going, but being a college student, I'm on a limited budget.
-
I respectfully disagree. I think it is clearly big George.
-
I'd vote for him.
-
Jordan Williams and the Kimball Knights have knocked off LeBryan Nash and Dallas Lincoln to advance to the state tourney in Austin. I apologize, but I do not have the stats.
-
That 35 yards per return is very misleading, since he only had 5 returns and one of them was for a TD.

What To Hope For When The Schedule Is Released Tomorrow

+1 to you sir. I really needed a good laugh. -
Other than us, does anyone in our entire conference have a single quality non-conference win?
-
Haha if you can make it out to the rec on Mondays and Tuesdays at 10:30, do it. You have to see this guy in person. However, get there early if you want a good seat. Like the OP said, he draws a very, very big crowd for an intramural game.

What The H$Ll Has Happened To This Team ?
cl_1_2008 replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Our football performance is hurting our basketball recruiting efforts? That's news to me. I mean, last year we went 3-9 and we have a top 30(I think) class next year. I'm not sure the two are related in any way. But more specific to your post, this is Texas. People just care more about football. I'm not saying that's how it should be, but that's just the way it is. GMG! -
If he ran for 3240 yards(k-state game times 12), with 36 TDs, he would absolutely run away with the Heisman. However, that's completely unrealistic.
-
I don't know his team name, but I know he plays on Tuesday nights at 10:30.
-
Well Kedrick and Holmen were up there with him, and he was easily taller than both of them.
-
Okay, I saw Mitchell play in person tonight in an intramural game. This guy is easily worth all the hype and then some. He's legitimately 6'9". He has unlimited range on his jump shot(hit 3 30-footers with ease), which is very smooth. He's INCREDIBLY athletic, with a vertical that is 36" at a bare minimum. If he plays for us next year, I guarantee you he will win Sun Belt MVP. Now all that being said, if he enters the draft this year, I'd be shocked if he wasn't a top 10 pick, possibly higher, considering the lack of talent(that translates to the NBA) throughout college basketball this year. Here's to hoping he stays for a year.
