  1. They play in the Big Ten. So what? They're not big at all. They have 6 300 pounders. We have 12. They're not fast. They lost to a freaking bottom of the barrel MAC school. They gave up almost 400 yards to a freaking 1-AA school. They are the equivalent of Washington State in the Pac-10, and Iowa State in the Big 12. If their conference affiliation is the only reason you think we "can't win," then you should quit watching football. All that said, I mean no disrepect to Indiana. I hope y'all have a wonderful time in Denton, but I'm very disappointed in some of the fans on here. I don't mind if you don't think we can win, but I need to hear a better reason than "they're in the Big Ten." Go Mean Green!
  2. The "junior" tight end that speaks at 2:50 looks like he's 35 years old. The jerseys are sweet though, and the reaction gave me goosebumps. That is all.
  3. I'd rather play Iowa than LSU or Alabama 100% of the time. Iowa is always good, but they are no world beater, and we still get paid. I guess I'm in the minority, but I like this.
  4. If you put Indiana's players in UL-Lafayette's jerseys, we'd be favored.
  5. Hahaha. +1 to you sir. I'm focused on the Mean Green.
  6. Well fellas it's about that time. I know most of you don't have as much confidence in us as I do, or have way too much confidence in Indiana(looking at you, Vito), but I will go on the record first. I guarantee that we win this game. It's tough to get a true feel for our team considering the opposition we have faced so far, but I have seen some things I liked(Brelan Chancellor, better tackling), and some things I didn't(the Tebow package). After doing my research, I expect both offenses to be able to move the football. I understand that Indiana is a Big Ten team, but this isn't your average Big Ten team. They're rebuilding just like us. Their cupboard was left a lot more bare than ours(they don't have Lance Dunbar). So, I'm going on the record with this score. UNT 48 IU 31 Offensively, Lance Dunbar is back. 200+ all purpose yards with 3+ TDs. Derek Thompson throws for 2 TDs and 200+ yards. Defensively, we give up a lot of yards, but make the key stops when we need to. Our defense registers 4 sacks and 3 turnovers. Oh, and we score a TD on defense or special teams. The Mean Green go to Tulsa with a full head of steam, and with an injury-plagued Tulsa team, look to make it 2-3 heading into the rest of our conference games. This ship is about to turn, and it's about to turn much quicker than most of you think. Just watch.
  7. The most qualified candidate for the Big East from that group is Central Florida. Unfortunately for us, Houston would not be near the top choice of those schools.
  8. Yes, my friend, you have heard of this. Do you remember young Timmy Tebow at Florida?
  9. Thompson AND Osborn are head and shoulders better than McNulty. It's not even close.
  10. I'm pretty sure I've stated this before, but all 11 of Alabama's defensive player's will get drafted. I'm not at all concerned as to whether or not we score against Bama. Our defense is performing well past my expectations.
  11. Case Keenum is more physically gifted, but Moore is a technician. I'll take Kellen Moore. All he does is win.
  12. You are correct. I was mistaken. I thought it took Ball State much longer.
  13. FIU would have to be closer to 10-0 to be ranked. Maybe even better than that.
  14. In their last 4 games, UCF has allowed a grant total of 16 points(1 touchdown, 3 field goals). 1 of those games was a conference championship, 1 was a bowl, and 1 was Boston College(yes, I know BC sucks, but they're still BC). They have the best defense by far of any non-AQ school in the nation. If FIU wins this game, they go 12-0. Houston has a good chance to go 12-0. Alabama will go 12-0, although I do think they lose in the championship game. Not sure who made our schedule, but with a new head coach, that's pretty damn harsh to start. It isn't out of the realm of possibility that our first 3 opponents finish 41-0. If they lost more than 4 games between them, I'd be shocked. Whoever made this schedule did us no favors.
  15. Every single player that starts for Alabama's defense will get drafted. They're NFL-sized, with NFL-speed, and NFL-talent.
  16. Very typical coach-speak. And hickoryhouse, I'd love for you to point out any time in NCAA history that a coach said anything in the vicinity of "we're gonna roll these guys..." Every coach in the nation is going to give the same vanilla breakdown of the opposing team. They'll point out the positives, and if there aren't any, they'll say something like "they're well-coached" or "they're well-disciplined." Once he starts naming names of certain players, that's when you can say that he truly means something. The only player I've heard Saban mention by name is Dunbar, and well, it's common knowledge that he's a beast.
  17. We should never play the Alabama and LSU's of the world. If you really need one money game a year, then teams like Clemson, Ole Miss, Colorado, Kansas, etc. would be good. Playing a top 5 team in the nation does us absolutely no good.
  18. We don't run Houston's offense. So your point is moot. The offense Chico runs is designed for a mobile QB. Just go look at his days at South Florida. But I do agree that our QB situation is fine. If they're gonna put a QB in to strictly run the ball, we have this guy from Cedar Hill named James Hamilton that needs more touches. IMO, he should be used in that situation.
  19. If only I had an airplane...
  20. Hmmm...I look through the comments and only see one person with something negative to say...take notes fellas.
  21. Our defensive line is bad. You don't beat a good QB with a bad d-line. Fortunately, he's the best QB we play all year, and after next week, every game is winnable. Yes, even Troy. We have a lot of work to do, but I was happy that we played with them for a half. That's your C-USA champs. Good luck the rest of the way Houston. All I ask is that you beat the hell out of SMU. Go Mean Green.
  22. Yeah, i did see the game last Thursday. And I guarantee you the handicappers in Vegas did too. And i guarantee you they know more about football than you could ever imagine.
  23. While I do agree that our unis did look sharp, I completely disagree with your bad list. Georgia has the best uniforms I've seen in a long time. Boise's uniforms looked very sharp as well(I love all-whites). Oregon always has good looking uniforms. Maryland's uniforms were very...unique, I guess you would say...I could definitely see how some would hate them, but I could see why people liked them too. I would love to see us in some pro-combat uni's next year. Euless Trinity is already in pro-combat uniforms, so we should honestly already have them, but better late than never I guess.
  24. If you have XBox Live, you can watch it on there too, through the ESPN app. That's how I watched the game last week. And if you really want to, you can go watch last weeks game on there.
  25. I understand that. But the people that set the lines in Vegas know what they're doing. Currently, from the websites I've looked at the line is around 22. And over 70% are picking Houston to cover. If you're not a gambler, you won't understand this, but fading the public(betting against the public) is a great way to make money. The public is stupid. Whenever 70% of people pick a team to cover, it hardly ever happens.
