I told you guys Chris Jones was our best recruit not named Tony. Dude can flat out ball.

You can pick this game apart as much as you want, but not only are these the best 2 teams this year by far, they may be the best 2 teams in the past 5 years. I am now rooting against Boise and Stanford. I want a rematch. These 2 teams are absolutely unbelievable. Ok. State and Stanford can't touch these guys. If you combine these 2 teams, they would dismantle college football. #SEC

Well the refs missed the most blatant holding call I've ever seen in my life(right in front of the ref) on the same drive, so I don't feel too bad for them.
-
McNulty has one good freaking DRIVE, not game, but DRIVE, and he's warranting comparison to an NFL QB, and a UNT HOFer? Stop it right now. Seneca Wallace is/was an excellent athlete. McNulty is average in the athleticism department. Just because he's small doesn't make him athletic. He's not much faster than Thompson.

Stop.

Yes, this was a tough loss. But by no means does it warrant the reaction that it is getting. We're 3-6 with 3 games left that are VERY, VERY winnable. Don't judge Troy based on previous performance. Troy has two wins against two of the worst teams in college football, and they're by a combined 4 points. They are simply a bad football team. Western Kentucky is looking good, but we own them, plain and simple, and we're a better team at home. Middle Tennessee is one of the worst teams in college football(we win this one HUGE). I'm hearing that Thompson has a concussion, so he should be good to go next week. If he's healthy, we could definitely still win 6 games. With McNulty at QB however, all bets are off. Don't write this football team off just yet, because this season is far from over. Go Mean Green!

Not sure if anyone noticed but the referee had a great lead block on the only guy that could have made the tackle.

Tony Mitchell was a second-team pick? That's laughable. The kid has more talent in his left pinky than any other player in the Sun Belt. And don't give me the BS about him being a freshman. That excuse doesnt fly in college basketball, and especially not in the Sun Belt.

Arkansas St. Score Prediction Thread
cl_1_2008 replied to MeanGreenTexan's topic in Mean Green Football
Ryan Aplin is the best QB in the Sun Belt. Fortunately for us, we have the best defense in the Sun Belt (yes, you read that correctly). I strongly suspect that we put a spy on Aplin, maybe Herron, and if we contain his rushing, which I suspect we will, the score will be... UNT 27 ASU 24 Go Mean Green! -
Trice is a safety. And I strongly suspect we will be going the JUCO route to improve at DT.

Beat WKU & MTSU then upset AK St or Troy then we are Bowl Bound

I'm pretty sure that every 7 win team gets in a bowl game before any 6 win teams. -

Also, this is getting overlooked, but 6 wins does not guarantee us a bowl game. It just makes us eligible for one. We could win 6 games and still finish 4th in the belt. Our best bet it to just win out, so it's a guarantee. -

Todd Dodge's awful recruits? That line is getting pretty old. Our best players on offense(Dunbar, Hamilton, Brelan, Bynes, Tomlinson, Y'Barbo, Fortenberry, Thompson) were all Dodge recruits. Our defense is young, but our best defensive players(Orr, AK, Sarge) were all Dodge recruits. Whether he got the full potential out of these guys is one thing, but to say these guys aren't talented is a freaking joke. -
Wait, the guy that started this thread rushed the field when we beat Indiana, but is talking down on doing it for Monroe? Indiana is/was atrocious. There was no reason to rush it then either. But, who cares, as long as they're at the game and not tailgating with the frat boys on the hill, let them rush the damn field.

Not sure who you are RJ, but it's becoming very clear to me that you're immature and lack knowledge about football. Having been to Nebraska, I can say that they are by far the nicest people in college football. They're regarded nation-wide as having the best, most-knowledgeable fans in college football. When I was there, I didn't hear a single curse word. And yes, Nebraska is a tough place to play considering they had a home win streak that lasted 8 years. Show some class. Yelling cuss-words at the opposition is not going to have any more effect on the opponent than just yelling normally. It just makes you look like a douchebag. And really you're using Texas as your example? They got routed by freaking UCLA last year. They have the worst, most bandwagon fan base in college football. They're a joke. If you're taking fan lessons from the douchebags down in Austin, you need to look elsewhere.

Yeah, as a student, I agree with Rudy. The MF chant is completely classless. Grow up.

Due to the parade, it is not very crowded at the moment.

McCarney keeps hinting at "bad talent" to save his own ass. If we don't win, it's the talent. If we do win, it's the coaching. It was a built-in excuse from the beginning.
-
Good post, BUT our defensive line is nowhere near as good as last year. Our DT's aren't even in the same atmosphere as last year, and the DE's are the same. But, I do agree with most of what you said.

Troy is terrible.
