  1. Chris Jones is absolutely our PG of the future. Half his turnovers are from guys simply not being able to catch the basketball. He was getting doubled of screens the whole night.
  2. Jordan Williams is shooting better. Roger Franklin is a good defender and probably our best rebounder. For some reason though, he insists on taking a dribble before every shot he takes. Chris Jones was pretty quiet tonight, but the were doubling him off screens. Good news is the schedule gets A LOT easier from here on out. And we only have 4 more games without Tony. Things are finally looking up. We do need to take care of the basketball and make our layups though. Those 2 things cost us a chance to win this game. But, it will only get better. Go Mean Green!
  3. Gotta protect the basketball. So many sloppy passes.
  4. Mean Green by 5. Gotta win the rebounding battle though. Go Mean Green!
  5. Everyone is capable of playing really bad this early in the season. See: North Carolina
  6. Was just looking at the coaching salaries on USAToday.com. The two lowest paid coaches in the conference finished 1st and 2nd in the Sun Belt this year. Also, the two highest paid coaches in the Sun Belt will be coaching against each other in Apogee next week.
  7. If Swarn was as good as advertised, he wouldn't have redshirted this year. It's not like we couldn't use the help. He needs to put on a lot of weight in the offseason.
  8. Sorry is I wasn't clear, but Marcus Trice will be playing safety next year. Yes, he'd be fine at CB, but he's going to be playing safety. And don't be shocked if you see him play a little offense as well. And don't be shocked if the other safety is Will Wright or Mike Stock.
  9. I wasn't stating my opinion. I know for a fact that he's a safety.
  10. He's a safety.
  11. I think this lad is onto something. I've gotta be top 10 in this format.
  12. Im not gonna look it up right now because I'm lazy, but if you have an Insider account with ESPN, Chad Ford wrote an article on draft stock for mid-major players today. He had Mitchell ranked 3rd behind Adonis Thomas(great name) of Memphis, and some fella I have never heard of, which is saying something, from St. Bonaventure. He has Mitchell currently ranked as the 33rd overall prospect without playing a single game. The scouts were very impressed with his FIBA showing, even though he didn't get many shots. I expect this ranking to move up. But it's a nice read if y'all are interested. Just thought I'd let you know. And thanks to the guy that eventually posts the link to the story. Go Mean Green!
  13. Chris Jones is a ball hog now? He dished out 8 assists in the first game. They needed him to score this game because nobody else on the team could make a shot, so he scored 31. He only had 3 assists, but again, your teammate has to make a shot for you to get credited with an assist. There are gonna be a few bumps along the way, but we will be fine. And stop comparing him to Josh White. They have very little in common. Chris Jones can get to the rim whenever he wants to.
  14. Don't get me wrong, Tristan Thompson was a very good player for us, but Chris Jones is more talented than anyone we had last year. There are gonna be nights like these with a young team, but we will be fine.
  15. UNT 81 Texas Tech 73 Chris Jones with 16, 9, and 6. Jordan Williams with 15 points. It's kinda nice to match up with a Big 12 team in which I honestly feel that we are much more talented than. Last year, we won because of the seniors, but beating a Big 12 team on talent alone...that is awesome. Here's to our players making it home "raider rash" free... Go Mean Green!
  16. More than likely, they'll do something like cumulative record for the previous 3 seasons. Then the bottom 14 are in the lottery. Funny thing is, if they just did the same order as last year, the Clippers would start a dynasty. They would have the number 1 and 2 picks, to go with Blake Griffin, Eric Gordon, DeAndre Jordan, Eric Bledsoe, Mo Williams, Al-Farouq Aminu, Chris Kaman, etc...if you add Anthony Davis(Kentucky), and Andre Drummond(UConn), that team would be okay for 2 years, then absolutely dominate the next 10. But with the 3 year rule, the order will be about as fair as possible.
  17. He needs 91 yards for 4,000 career rushing yards.
  18. Tony Mitchell's lack of an NBA offensive game? If you're basing this off of the FIBA tourney, then slow down a bit, because international basketball is a completely different game than the NBA. The NBA is more isolation-oriented, which suits Tony's game much more. The reason he didn't score much in FIBA was because they had plenty of scorers. His role was shot blocker/rebounder. Remember that he was the second most efficient player in the entire tourney. The most efficient guy got picked 4th last year. I'd be shocked if Tony stayed around for more than a year, but I'd absolutely love to have him. So here's hoping... Go Mean Green!
  19. I think we're getting pretty close, after one game, to matching the amount of dunks we had all last season. This team is ridiculously athletic.
  20. Told you so.
  21. He missed the damn oop! It's gonna happen though. Just wait...
  22. 88-52 UNT Point leader: Chris Jones(23) Rebound leader: Ked(9) Assist leader: Trey Norris(7) Steal leader: Chris Jones(5) Block leader: Jordan Williams(3) Play of the Night: Chris Jones to Jordan Williams alley-oop Go Mean Green!
  23. In my humble opinion, the Hall of Fame should be judged strictly by on-field production. It's a travesty that Pete Rose is not in the Hall of Fame.
  24. They weren't scanning IDs and there was nobody counting heads when we came in. So, how do they come up with that number?
