Aren't they all?

Free Throw disparity is not at all indicative of poor officiating. You can't look at a box score and determine if the officials are poor. Aggressive teams are going to shoot a lot of free throws and jumpshooting teams are not. I'm not saying these officials were good, because I didn't watch the games, but I am saying that you cannot make that judgment unless you see the games for yourself.

And Lafayette was sending THREE guys his direction when he caught the ball in the post. It wasn't one guy that shut him down.

Yes, I can agree that him staying could benefit him in some ways, as long as he doesn't log very many minutes playing center. We need to get him isolated on the wing more often(not just for him, but for team success). It's a lot harder to double a guy on the perimeter, and him going one-on-one will create our best oppurtunity for easy buckets. His ballhandling may not be NBA-ready, but it is plenty good enough that he can take Sun Belt players off the dribble. As a result of getting the ball more out on the win, I think his turnovers would decrease. When he catches the ball in the post, there's two, and sometimes three guys, going at him. When you double and triple-team, you're going to cause turnovers, no matter how good the player is. And his passing is very underrated, so when guys come to help, he can get everyone else open shots. I feel we should have gotten him the ball outside more often THIS YEAR, but that's okay. Also, his fouls will go down if he's not having to guard centers. The only real negatives to staying are the possibility of injury, and the fact that you're not getting a fat check every week. The are pro's and con's both ways, but I'm sure he'll make the right decision for him and his family whatever that may be. With CJ, Al, Brandan, Overlander, Jordan, Holmen, Patton, Roger, Tony, Niko, and Odoh, that's 11 guys that can flat out play. I know we haven't seen Overlander yet, but a knockdown shooter is something this team needs badly. Even if he does nothing else, I think he can make a difference with just his shooting. If Trey and Forrest improve in the offseason, then Johnny might find himself in a tough spot in figuring out who gets how many minutes. But that, my friends, is certainly not a bad problem to have. First of all, he doesn't NEED any more years. His game is good enough as is that he would probably be a top 20 pick. I'd love to see him stay but to say he NEEDS to stay one more year, much less 2, is ridiculous. I'd love to have him back, and it sounds like he's certainly entertaining the possibility. His mother doesn't sound nearly as enthused about the idea of him staying here another year. Also, I would bet you any amount of money you'd like that if he goes pro, he doesn't fall to the second round. I do agree that having Odoh will help him out, because like McMahon stated, he'll get to play a little more out on the perimeter and improve his outside game and ball-handling. And he wouldn't be the only guy protecting the rim for our defense. IF he does come back, and CJ and Jordan get eligible, then the sky is the limit for next year's team. All that being said, I'm looking forward to the conference tourney, and I think the Mean Green may just win the thing. Can't wait to see what happens. Go Mean Green!

If Tony leaves, I'd wager a hefty sum of money that he goes in the top 20.

http://nbadraft.net/2012mock_draft Tony is in this one.

I do believe you are correct. And I'm glad that's the case.

More than likely, we're going to have to beat Middle at some point in the tourney. I'd rather play them in the 2nd round when we're still somewhat fresh, than for it to be our 4th game in 4 days. So I'd much rather have the 5 seed than the 6.

Down 4 with roughly our entire team in foul trouble. Should be an interesting 2nd half. Also, I would be absolutely ashamed if our announcers were half as horrific as the UALR guys. So grateful to have Jub and Hank.

Worst announcers of all time. And I've heard A LOT of bad announcers.

If POY goes to the best player, then it should definitely be Tony. There's absolutely no doubt who the best player in the Sun Belt is.

Hoops Numbers hobbyist likes Crowder (and Tony Mitchell)

That article says Mitchell "probably will rise into the top 5 by draft time." While I think that's a bit of a stretch, I do think his stock will go up a lot when he starts working out for NBA teams. -
Thank you. I get on this board every single day, and somehow still managed to miss this post. Thanks for the link sir.

So if FAU loses at MTSU tomorrow, we only need to go 2-1 to get a bye, rather than 3-0. And that is assuming FAU wins their last 2 at home. I still expect us to take care of business in our last 3, but it's nice to know that we don't necessarily HAVE to win out to get a bye.
-
Since 5 teams are getting byes this year, how does this work? Is it simply the 5 best conference records regardless of division, or are 2 from each division guaranteed a bye? I was just wondering because currently, our division has 4 of the top 5 teams. I'm sure 2 from each division get a bye, but I'm not positive, so I was just seeing if anyone knew for sure.

Someone must have disagreed with me, and I was just wondering what exactly they disagreed with. I just wanted to hear their side of the argument. That is the point of a message board, no?
-
Can someone explain exactly what I said that warranted a -1? If you disagree with me, at least tell me why.

Whether you think he's coming back or not, there is a real possibility that this is Tony's last home game. I hope we pack the Pit. Attendance last night was pathetic.

Check the board before I go to sleep and Skiver has made yet another irrational statement. Color me shocked. Roger is our second best player, no matter how many points he scores. Also, he was a 4-year starter at a basketball powerhouse, and a 4th-team Parade All-American as a senior. Also, as bad as OSU is, I'm shocked that he didn't get a fair shake up there. With CJ and Jordan, we'd run those guys out of the gym, and that's with Roger, whom they had no room for, playing a prominent role. Just doesn't make sense.

With 6 minutes to play in the SECOND HALF, SMU has SEVENTEEN POINTS!!! Against 10-14 UAB...AT HOME!!! HAHAHA

It seems like every time we need a bucket, Walton gets it.
