  1. More NBA potential than Tony Mitchell? What exactly are you basing that on? Obviously not performance because he played a whopping 30 minutes all of last season, and when he did play, he didn't perform. Tony would have been the best player on Florida State's roster and definitely better than this kid. I'm not saying he's not talented, but to say he has more potential than a guy whose potential is through the roof is egregious.
  2. If I recall correctly, Jordan and Chris had vastly improved their shooting before they were deemed ineligible. That should be a big help. Then you have Walton and Overlander who can also shoot. My only question is whether or not Odoh can have the impact we all hope for and allow Tony to slide over to the 4. I know he's got the frame and the numbers, but junior college basketball can be downright awful. Time will tell I suppose.
  3. This is just for phone calls and text messages. Wait til they find out how much those guys were getting paid.
  4. All this article is saying is that the CAA is a better basketball conference than the Sun Belt, which it quite obviously is.
  5. To be perfectly honest, I get the feeling that if Tony stays, it will be because of his teammates, not his coach. With everyone back, this team should do big things, regardless of who the coach is. That said, I hope Johnny stays.
  6. From what I recall, only one guy got an oppurtunity.
  7. Hate to break the bad news to you, but yeah, Feldt is going to sit. Interesting that you're willing to place someone you've never seen play in the starting lineup simply because of his recruiting rating. Y'Barbo, Fortenberry, and Lemon are 100% locks to start, barring injury.
  8. When you have the best player on the court on your team, you have a chance. Lehigh's CJ McCollum was the best player on the court, not the hype machine that is Austin Rivers.
  9. What seed did you expect a team with a 15-18 record to get? Only 3 of their wins were against top 150 teams, and those were MTSU, Denver, and Tennessee State. Their resume was awful, but they got hot and won the conference tourney. That being said, I would've traded places with them in a heartbeat, and i'm glad them and Middle won.
  10. Lance Dunbar's doing.
  11. He didn't just break one record. He rewrote the UNT record books.
  12. Unfortunately, Frazier wasn't at kimball with Williams. This is his first year there. They may still be friends though. I'd love to have him on board.
  13. The best running back I ever saw play in high school is currently the best running back in the NFL, Adrian Peterson. He's a man amongst boys in the NFL. I can't even put into words how good he was in high school.
  14. Retiring numbers is one of the coolest traditions in sports. Lance Dunbar certainly did enough at UNT to deserve that honor.
  15. Wait Cooley, how can you not be a Walton fan? He stepped up when called upon after the grades debacle. Hit a ton of big shots. The guy is a flat out gamer. Without him, we wouldn't have been playing in the championship game, that's for sure. He improved as the year went on, and stepped up in big moments. He was also great on help defense, as it seemed like he took 3 charges a game. I'm sure his minutes will go down with CJ and Jordan coming back, but I wouldn't just cut him out completely.
  16. The fact that Argyle took less than half the number of shots as the other team and still won, blows my mind. That's a pretty ridiculous stat.
  17. Sorry, it was "average belt rotation player." And, while I certainly think he'll improve, he was not up to par this year. Our starting PG was deemed ineligible, and instead of him stepping into that role, they had to have someone move positions, and he still never played big minutes. But, I think he'll be a much better player next season.
  18. He said he was grading where a C was a belt rotation player. Not going off of expectations, but strictly performance. There are some things I'd correct, but y'all are being way too harsh in judging his post.
  19. I have seen Frazier a little, and the kid is as polished a guard as you will find at his age. Pure shooter, great athlete, great size. Would love to have him. With CJ and Jordan progressing next year, then adding Frazier, that's as good of a backcourt as you will find in the country. That's being said, I would be surprised if he ended up here. Pleasantly surprised, but still surprised.
  20. He didn't play bad defense. The guy he was guarding is 6'11" with a high release on his shot. He was just shooting over Tony. It was actually pretty textbook. He didn't leave his feet much, which kept him out of foul trouble. The only place he struggled last night was in transition, and that's because he was exhausted because we don't have a deep bench. He wasn't the only one gassed either. Alzee missed a couple free throws because he was also tired. You could tell he was struggling for air at the line.
  21. Are you implying that Skiver doesn't know what he's talking about? I think you may be onto something...
  22. My thoughts exactly Emmitt. Well said.
  23. Not excusing Tony for that, but the coaches HAVE to make sure everyone knows it's a 1-and-1.
