I am going to the game tonight, but I realize that I have never actually been to a basketball game that wasn't either while I was a student or not a student and on a weekend or over semester/holiday break. So, I have always parked in the lot in front of Clark Hall. Can someone let me know if that is an option tonight, or is there parking at Fouts or somewhere else?

Haha, yeah I was out at the blvd there and was suprised to see just how darned empty the stadium was when i was leaving. Couldn't be more than 4-6000 there.

So there are like 25,000 people there at the game, right?

The double edged sword about that Troy game

^ Yeah, I get that, but I think a big increase in a fairly short amount of time may be difficult to adjust to. -
The double edged sword about that Troy game

One thing I had noticed sitting at the games was it seemed that Olen had gained a lot of weight. While good for some, I'm just not sure how good that is for a kicker. It seems to me that a drastic change could throw all sorts of things like balance off for a kicker. Looking at his listing on Rivals recruiting page shows him at 5'10" 185 and now is listed on the UNT roster at 5'10" 228. I am certainly no kicking expert, but I have to think that 40 extra pounds could affect distance and accuracy both. -
I personally have a hard time getting too excited and yelling at appropriate moments when the seats in front of me and beside me are empty. Get butts in seats on the west side and there would be a better chance of everyone there being louder. I remember going to Mavs games in the 90s where there were 5-6 thousand people in Reunion Arena and people not being very loud even in close games and exciting moments. The contrast to a sold out AAC is drastic. Sure, winning has a lot to do with it there, but it's a lot easier to get excited and loud when you are elbow to elbow with others doing the same thing.

So, I got blue parking this year, but I had red parking last year. The red and blue lots are basically combined, so the only difference is the traffic route into the lots, correct?

UNT law school
jredallas replied to wardly's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
I don't disagree with the need issue since there are more law grads than jobs as it is already. The different market I refer to though is for someone looking for a less expensive legal education from the DFW/North Texas area, perhaps with getting into public sector legal work (less pay/less student loans to pay off), versus trying to attract national applicants with focus in areas such as IP law that TAMU and TxWes mentioned in their respective press releases. -

I think there will still be an angle for UNT in that it probably will be able to come in lower on tuition. I don't see A&M changing tuition downward from where it has been with Wesleyan even if given state funding (since Wesleyan's tuition is about on par with Houston and Texas and higher than Tech). It seems that will be where the big battle will be is in the funding, and I don't like being on the UNT side of that battle with a Higher Ed Board made up of Perry appointees. I think that ultimately TAMU Law will be going after a much different market than UNT, so perhaps they both can coexist (that is if there are enough students willing to sink money into a legal education with low employment prospects.) -

So, apparently the answer is no, they do not still read print newspapers in Louisiana. -

Free 4 Tickets For Each MGC Member

That's one way to negate the no in/out rule too I guess. Everyone should just buy 2 tickets to every game: one for the first half and one for the second half. -
Villarreal on potential scheduling conflict

I was a Rangers fan well before going to school at UNT and later becoming an alumni season ticket holder (now my 5th year). Assuming the Rangers win Saturday or Sunday and actually make it to the Series, I will absolutely not miss watching the Rangers play a World Series game to watch UNT play a game. For me personally, as much as I love going to the UNT games, it is not even a question. If UNT were 5-0, in the SEC, Ranked #2 in the country with a game against Alabama with SEC and National Championship implications on the line, I would still stay home and watch the Rangers. I go to school in the evenings, so the weekend games are all I get to see anyway. I figure making it to 5 UNT games this year and watching two World Series games is a good balance. But hey, maybe I am not the kind of fan that UNT football needs (i.e., one that has only missed 1 home game the last 4 1/2 seasons). With all that said, all this talk has probably jinxed the whole darned thing anyway. -
Thank you for the info. I think I may give that shot to try to be able to do both. Though I guess rain might not be so good for a TV. For those planing to DVR and hope to not know the outcome by the time they get home, good luck with that, since I assume we will be getting scoring updates on the video boards throughout the game. And on the general topic, I think that UNT game versus Game 1 of the ALCS is a far easier decision than the decision on October 22 should the Rangers make it to the World Series again and be playing Game 3 at the same time.
