  1. I still really want it worked into the beginning before the team runs onto the field. As loud as that was at the end with the game in hand, it is better at the beginning from the intimidation standpoint. It says, hey, welcome to North Texas road team. This is our house, and we are gonna be loud tonight. Doing it early, also gets both sides on the stadium in the yelling mood.
  2. I don't think you have to pretend--even if it was a small part. Just keep the momentum going with it. I think you are doing a really great thing.
  3. I loved the chant too, but dangit, I wish we could get that in the time between national anthem and the team coming into the stadium.
  4. The livingsocial deal for one of the next two games is now up to 144 purchases.
  5. The latest update from the National Weather Service has the greatest chances to the southwest of the DFW area on Saturday. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfjRBRSl_yU&feature=youtu.be
  6. Just FILL the place up until it is PACKed to the point where we HIT30K or more in attendance. If it is one or three separate hashtags that help get people there, then who cares which one it is. Three may be better than one. Also, if anyone has not done so, please go to the LivingSocial deal and share it on Facebook, tweet it, etc. It currently shows 97 have purchased.
  7. Yes, they do have the logo ones at the store at the stadium. I had called there to get one before leaving out to GA. Though, I have not called to verify today that they still have any in stock.
  8. So, should we hire Ted Cruz, the Koch brothers, and Grover Norquist as consultants for this?
  9. I'm not sure if anyone has some connections to get this done on the cheap, but maybe getting some koozies with a simple #Hit30K printed on them and randomly distributing them could help with some buzz. (Yes, double-meaning of the word buzz was intentional.)
  10. Is this going to be the year of all things weather related hurting attendance? We go from the 100+ game to the sizzle in the sun in the afternoon game to the monsoon game? I really hope the forecasters get the timing wrong and it moves in a bit slower (here's hoping to 10PM or later). For the first time in my six years as a season ticket holder, I was actually able to get 3 people to go to a game with me instead of my normal +1. Unfortunately, they are all 70+ years old, so a rainy game may be a deal killer. Grrrr.
  11. Yeah, according to the latest from the NHC, it looks like the more western track (N.O.) will make it a weaker storm: NOTE THAT A TRACK FARTHER EAST WOULD LIKELY RESULT IN A STRONGER STORM...WHILE KAREN WOULD LIKELY BE WEAKER IF IT TAKES A TRACK FARTHER WEST.
  12. ^ Come into that game at 6-2, and I would bet on 20,000 minimum in attendance that night regardless of it being Halloween.
  13. I realize that nothing really has been proven this year, and we don't know if these various lists with NT near the middle of FBS are really warranted, but it sure is a heck of a lot more fun seeing North Texas on lists like this instead of looking out for the appearances on the ESPN Bottom 10 every week.
  14. So I understand the issue with picking a certain game for any sort of giveaway deal, but why focus on any one game? Why not get the #Hit30K push going for every game. If MTSU turns out to be 22K, for example, then you just push harder to get more support to get to 30 for the next one (realizing that Thurs night game may be a greater challenge). Why is it not that the goal is to get to 30K for A game (or more) by the end of the season? Start pushing the #Hit30K thing NOW on campus and around Denton. Just start physically posting #Hit30K everywhere--tagging everything where it is applicable online with it as well. I am thinking if I saw a physical piece of paper on campus with #Hit30K on it, and I had no clue what it was, I would be intrigued--I would want to find out more. I would feel like, "What is going on that I don't know about?" So, I may search that hashtag on Twitter/IG/FB etc. and hopefully start finding a whole lot of stuff about the push to get 30,000 butts in the seats at Apogee this year. Set a goal, get people excited, get buzz going about it now. Having been in school during the time to get to 17K average for I-A status, I really just remember now that it was actually the cool thing to do to go to the games during that time. We need that kind of excitement with a goal again.
  15. ^ Yeah no kidding. I feel a little less crazy screaming and clapping in person then I do when I do the same thing in my living room. Seriously though, you're right, isn't that really the main reason for going to a game versus watching it on TV.
  16. Well, it is encouraged at the game itself in order to tweet pics to have them shown on the video board. I kept trying to do that during the Idaho game, but I finally gave up after I killed 20% of my battery trying to get it to upload. I was able to successfully check scores periodically during that game and the Ball St. game, so maybe more of an upload issue for me on ATT.
  17. Declining Student Attendance Hits Georgia At Campuses Across the Country, More Reasons Than Ever to Skip the Game By: BEN COHEN http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702304795804579097223907738780.html
  18. I guess I should remember this since I took my statistics course twice because I loved it so much. Yeah, that's it, that is why I took it a second time.
  19. I like being the little green spot along the aisle on the top left portion of this picture.
  20. I had a great time surrounded by UGA fans on the home side. They were definitely giving UNT some respectful comments. I got a "what conference is North Texas in?" from the guy in front of me when we tied the game, and he said it is a very respectful way. He asked about who we had played, and he was impressed with the team. I also had a former Ark St. player stop and say hi. I didn't catch his name, but he said he was impressed with the performance of NT as well. I was proud of our guys, and it was really fun being the only guy standing and cheering in a sea of red several times during the game.
  21. I am just now about to head that way from Greenville, SC as the only Mean Green fan in the car filled with red and black. We are going to try to eat at Mama's Boy restaurant, which supposedly has the best breakfast in Athens. It looks like the rain isn't too far away now.
