  1. The reverse lay up was a thing of beauty. I audibly said "wow" when he did it.
  2. It's New Years day so I'm hoping attendance picks up next week.
  3. Coach Mac is really something. This is the best coached UNT BB team I have seen.
  4. Interesting that the CUSA schools are leaving in 2022, I would guess we have no chance of leaving to the AAC unless for some reason Cincy, Houston, and UCF leave to the Big12 early?
  5. Various reasons. On the practical side it's as @97and03 pointed out: Building a separate facility would not be ideal, even if it's close you would want the convenience of having everything as integrated as possible. On the recruiting/perception/program building side: We need a showcase piece to convince recruits. Recruits care about this stuff, and if we want to elevate our recruiting profile it is something we need to invest in. WB said as much when we joined the AAC. And no, I'm not saying expanding the AC will automatically bring in 4 and 5 star recruits, it's would just be another tool at our disposal like the IPF.
  6. Interesting about the lighting at Apogee, how was it supposed to be originally?
  7. Would that be made obsolete if the AC expansion comes soon? Or would they still use it as long as The Pit is in use?
  8. I'd guess that's at the end of the line. It's going to be a big investment and I feel like the AD sees that money spent better elsewhere.
  9. Happy New Year to the entire MG nation! As we wrap up the year and look forward to the future what's the next big project for the athletic department? We don't have much time before we join the AAC, so I think it's important to hit the ground running. I think we are all guessing the Athletic Center expansion will be next, but maybe someone has heard different. I would hope WB has his sights on being the next Cincy/Houston/UCF from day 1, and I hope he has the entire athletic department laser focused on that goal. So we better start spending and building like they did.
  10. Yup ridiculously priced, as in ridiculously low priced. Those prices are for knock offs, $339 for Travis/Fragment Jordan 1s? Try over 3k. https://stockx.com/air-jordan-1-high-og-sp-fragment-design-x-travis-scott
  11. What a great effort by the team. Light the tower baby 😎
  12. This is a great idea, when I was a student me and my gf went to the football games, and said, "why don't we go to a basketball game? It might be fun." We go and we have a blast and decided we should go to every game. We just went on a whim, and without that random choice we likely never become basketball fans. Most students don't realize how fun the games are, so just get them there and we will see a major shift in attitude.
  13. We'd all like some private info on what's going on in the locker room, but that kind of thing is better kept in the circle. I'll support any of the guys new or old, as long as they are giving it their full effort every day. If they represent UNT we should have their backs.
  14. Welcome to the new players. I hope they tear it up along with the rest of the team next year.
  15. I see this topic was moved away from the FB section to draw less attention, even though it was a tweet dealing with the football team victory and a family heavily involved with the football program.
  16. Agreed. Own up to it, and apologize like a man.
  17. I've mentioned this before, but we really have to think about the AC expansion. Building so close to the stadium will forever lock us into a horseshoe design, and unable to finish the full bowl. That also means no seats in a theoretical upper tier above the endzone too. Basically it better look outstanding to give up all of that future real estate.
  18. Also I mentioned in the last game thread that Bell needed to play like his old self and I'm glad he did and shut me up. That's the Bell we want to see.
  19. They clearly let up in the 2nd half, no sense in going 100% only to get tired or even worse injured. For what? A few more points? Coach didn't care about the fewest points allowed stat, he wanted to rotate guys in and keep people fresh for the big upcoming game. He made the smart choice.
  20. I'd be excited if this is the direction the program goes. If SL pulls out the next two wins, I'm sure he stays.
  21. Jones, Bell, and especially Wright need to step it up. Bell was a monster last year, so I hope this was just a bad game. We get those 3 going and this team can do great things.
  22. Flashbacks of Villanova there at the end. It's like they couldn't miss 😟
  23. That's a nice crowd if true. I know it was homecoming, but for our record that's a solid crowd.
  24. How was attendance? I wasn't able to watch the game.
  25. One thing I always thought about the Athletic Center expansion was it will forever lock us into a horse shoe design. That part of the stadium will never be filled in.
