LFG Baby!!!! GO MEAN GREEN!!!!

Glad to be up, we have missed too many layups/fast breaks. We've left about 6 easy points on the floor. Good job on defense, keep hounding them. Clean up the mistakes and build the lead.

Let's Go Mean Green!!!!

It was always going to be a very low to almost 0 chance he would play. Flying to NYC and back, leaving team practice and all of the game prep they have to do, and on top of that for a 2 day turnaround. It just wasn't going to happen unless he got back early Monday.

If Grant takes the Texas Tech job…

I say we put a lid on this thread until after the game tonight. I have a lot of thoughts to say, but I think we could all do without the distraction for at least today. -
I have wondered this too. I would think Nike would have no problem sending more jerseys and that they would be free? I don't think we pay Nike to give us jerseys, they provide them as part of our licensing agreement. At least I think that's how it works, someone else correct me if I'm wrong. The other issue is do the jerseys come blank? I noticed our names and numbers are embroidered and sewn on, not screen printed. So maybe the issue is getting more numbers/letters and getting those put on?

The players love the alternate jerseys, so more than not expect them to be in the black unis tonight.

I'm glad people are coming around to the idea. Just don't expect people to be happy about it, while unwilling to actually discuss their point.
-
Tough road game, but at this point there are no easy games left. Let's hope we come out red hot like in the last game.
-
Agree, and as much as I love UNT basketball what he is dealing with is more important. Hoping that he and his family are ok and it's nothing major.
-
If they stay it keeps the conference stable and they are a good program to have, but we can't blame them for looking out for themselves. We would be doing the same thing. What would be bad is if they also take someone like Tulane. I think that would be a bigger blow.

It's understandable he would need to ease in since he started the year injured. It's not just the physical part of recovering from the injury, the time it takes to get back into game shape, but also the mental part. Feeling secure and confident plays a big role. Plus he also had a re-injury scare in the Bahamas tournament from a slip.

Rumblings of some news tomorrow, and hint that it won't be pretty. Let's see if it's actually something or just rumors. It could end up being nothing.
-
It makes me wonder who does the count for these games? Is it still UNT or does someone from the NIT do it?
-
Agree, but at least it would look respectable at half full.

Most wins in school history if I'm not mistaken. The evidence that we need a smaller arena is there, people just don't want to accept it.

Against a weak opponent that wasn't athletic enough to cover our shooting, while shooting lights out. What happens when we aren't on fire and the other team is in your face on every shot? It was good to show a different look and adapt, but having more options is always better. There is nothing stopping us from running this system even if Ousmane is available (we did at the beginning of the year when Martinez was getting all of the backup minutes), however without him we are severely limited going down low for points in the paint.
-
Dominating and resounding win. The perfectionist in me would have liked the bench to look a little smoother and better drilled when they came in. There were some easy layups missed. I really hope Ousmane is ok and that it's nothing major with his family. Best wishes to him.

I really want to see the team come out focused and ready from the tip off. The last few games have seemed like we have been sluggish to start, let's hope we are focused 100% today. GMG!

So you'd rather get some extra revenue to the detriment of the team's development? The team learns nothing from these games, the fans don't show up, and it makes our schedule weaker. Wyoming is at least from a respected conference and it should be the type of teams we play to continue to raise our profile. Here's the teams that have recently gone to Wyoming: Nebraska, Oregon, Washington State, Missouri, Tulsa. Future home opponents: Texas Tech, BYU, Utah, Arizona. When have we ever had anyone of that calibre come to Apogee? But we are too good to play Wyoming?
-
I thought that too, but then I remembered the deep runs Houston has made/probably will make that will stay with the AAC.
-
My mistake on the 2-1. Also I didn't ask if you watch college football, @El Paso Eagle did. No those two aren't equal. Playing an FCS at home does nothing for us, no one knows those teams or their reputation. Wyoming isn't a marquee team that everyone will know, but it's better than TSU or ACU any year. This is pretty simple to solve, make a thread with a poll to see who prefers an FCS at home vs a 1-1 with an FBS team and you'll see how alone you are in your thinking.

Bell was the kind of player you are lucky to find a few times in your career as a coach. Just an absolute physical monster. There was a reason very few players could guard him.
