  1. I don't think it should be lost on anyone that if the Pac starts to lose schools we need them to collapse entirely. A Pac that loses 2 or even 4 more schools, but whose teams have nowhere else to go has the potential to cause havoc for us. I would not want a scenario where out of desperation they try to snag Tulane and Memphis along with SMU.
  2. Rice has alumni with very very deep pockets that regularly donate. The school just doesn't prioritize athletics. If they did they could easily invest more into their programs and get a better athletic reputation, again they just choose not to.
  3. Yes we are in big metros, but we have to establish a winning tradition to gain more of that metro share. We have a lot of alums, but we need to do Tulane/Cincy/UCF/Houston type things to change our culture. I really hope Aresco is around for quite a bit longer as he clearly knows how to build up programs, and let's hope all of the teams in the AAC are committed to investing and making the conference stronger. That's one of the frustrating things about Rice, they could be a powerhouse if the actually tried. I'd love for UNT to have the types of resources they have.
  4. There's still some quality brands. I'd say* of what's left Tulane, USF, and Memphis are the top of the conference in that order. Then teams like SMU, ECU, Temple, etc are in the middle. Us newbies are at the bottom until we prove we can be a positive addition to the conference.
  5. SMU fans are like spoiled rich kids, Memphis fans I'd say are more like incels. "I deserve a hot chick! Why are they not throwing themselves at me, don't they know how cool I am??!!"
  6. Let's be honest here, they are losing their 3 top nationally recognized brands. How else would you expect them to react? On a side note, from what I have seen Memphis has the most jaded fans in the AAC. They desperately want to be in a P5 conference and feel like they are worthy of that move despite being passed over several times.
  7. I expect them hit recruiting hard for another big man.
  8. I feel like they this staff will recruit another big man in the upcoming weeks.
  9. Welcome to the Mean Green Edwards! This guy looks legit, great to see someone who can drive to the basket. If he can translate those numbers to Div 1 he is going to be a monster. Phenomenal pick up!
  10. Yes, but he's a junior in HS. He won't be on campus until the 2024-25 season.
  11. Also I just noticed the American logo on the jersey. 👀
  12. Let's please play a wider variety of music. The past director seemed to play 3 or 4 songs in the stands max.
  13. In today's climate I'd guess somewhere around $100m and up.
  14. Times have changed, if players can leave any time during the portal then coaches should absolutely be allowed to recruit replacements and cut scholarships/NIL. 1 rule change that would bring this mess to a screeching halt is transfer teams must compensate NIL funds for the last year and total price of education cost unless the player is graduated. That way you at least get some compensation for developing a player and you can use that money to invest in current/future players.
  15. I know we'll wait until July 1st, but someone should send a memo to UCF. It's plastered all over the place there even on their jerseys. https://twitter.com/UCF_Football?ref_src=twsrc^google|twcamp^serp|twgr^author I want to say it's even on their field. Yup found it:
  16. Yes or some video/media to highlight the changing of the logos.
  17. I hope UNT does something for the switching of the logos on the fields/courts.
  18. Just cut football, problem solved.
  19. Really hoping this staff comes together quickly and we start hearing some more noise on who UNT is interested in soon.
  20. Yes, this is all true. I think we are saying the same thing here. Those things, as well as being in a large metro area (honestly a huge part of it), student body size, future potential, etc. were the determining factors for who got chosen. LT's current facilities weren't one of those reasons.
