  1. We haven't been a strong post team all year, not just about this game. Luckily we have been good at shooting, but tonight we had an off night, and one of the best ways to break out of that is relying on your big man to make some buckets down low and take some of that mental pressure off of the shooters. It's just something we aren't strong in, and that's always going to be a glaring issue when we have off shooting nights.
  2. These are the games that really make the hole in the paint stand out. That go to player that you can dish it to score regularly to get the momentum back when shooting isn't going well. We don't have that this year.
  3. I feel like it's always tough to play in CLT. Hopefully Buggs is back, or if neither are playing that they got enough rest. I like the AAC scheduling, it's nice they have an extra day between games. It must be brutal to play Thursday, fly out that night and play again Saturday, then fly out and be back in school Monday.
  4. This. Very tough stretch up ahead.
  5. For the 1st time since the injuries I felt like the short rotation affected the team, particularly Edwards. He played 39 minutes tonight. Really hope one of the two gets back soon.
  6. StatBroadcast. Someone on here linked it once, it's a great site. Gets stats up way faster than ESPN.
  7. What a finish!!
  8. Need to settle in and play with no fear. Shoot if you have a good look.
  9. The NCAA has no power in enforcing rules that big name schools don't want enforced. Everyone knew what would happen with NIL, this isn't some, "Oh my! We didn't think this would happen" situation. This is what the P5 wanted, and if the NCAA would have tried to stop them they could just split off and form their own playoff. If anything starts hurting the big schools they will pass regulations to dial it back. I've talked about this exact subject in another recent thread, the NCAA can only enforce what it's allowed to, and they take their orders from the programs that have all the money.
  10. People are upset at the players because it's a change to how things were done, I get it. But people have to step back and realize they are working within the system in place, change that and it changes what they can do. For a while I had felt like the big schools were unhappy with schools like App State, Cincy, Boise, other strong G5s, that found hidden gems in recruiting that allowed them to compete. Recruiting is hard and not every player you bring in pans out, so what could these programs do to get these players they missed? Do what they do with coaches from the G5, just buy them.
  11. Wrong. Nothing happens in college football without the big brands wanting it to happen. The wealthy schools want a system that lets them poach players easily. They want to eliminate down years and rebuilds so that they remain on top every season. Why do you think the transfer rules have been loosened? The schools could easily shut this down and implement restrictions and limits. Why do you think NIL is handled by collectives outside of the school and the totals don't have to be reported? Tampering is rampant and punishments are un-enforced. Are the players responsible for any of those things? The NCAA is powerless to stop any of this, as any push back could cause the big brands to split away. They want to collect their share of money as well.
  12. I disagree, teams have come and gone to different conferences. The SWC ending after 82 years and merging Texas, A&M, Baylor, and Tech with the Big 8 was a bigger catalyst than just A&M leaving. The biggest shift is games being televised, and the court ruling to allow conferences to negotiate their own media rights. Without TV college football doesn't have the explosion of revenue that we see today.
  13. The schools are the ones to blame ultimately. They would rather give up those traditions and historical ties for money, no one is forcing them to move conferences. They decided that their traditions are worth less than making more money.
  14. Put me in the "loved to see Mac's passion on the sideline" crew. He was so short, it was entertaining watching him go straight at these 6-5 guys. He also never did it out of malice.
  15. My only critique is ball security, he seems to cough it up a few times a game. Need to clean that up and we are looking good.
  16. Maintenance is more important than age. If a venue is well maintained and renovated regularly it can last a long time, the question what is the structural condition of The Pit? This is an honest question, maybe someone on this board has insider knowledge.
  17. Impressive considering we had 2 starters out.
  18. For years the master plan had always been to build a large parking garage in the old Fouts lot and make a pedestrian bridge going across to the Pit.
  19. I wonder if Earle is staying around to see if a new clear starter transfer comes in, if someone good is picked up he can still enter the portal in the spring.
  20. While I agree that we should primarily wear green and white, the whole, "It's the reason we are losing." is growing tired. I'm all for advocating that those should be the colors we wear for marketing and tradition, but saying we lose games because of the jersey colors makes you sound like (in the nicest way possible 😆) one of those insane homeless guys yelling on a corner.
  21. If only we hadn't played in green, we could have won. Is that how this works @ADLER?
