Ring Time...
Grant.UNT replied to MeanGreenTXN's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
I love wearing my ring. I wear it everyday just like I wear my wedding ring. I got the XL version, white gold, with only the star in the middle. Everyone always thinks I won some sort of championship. It's huge on my hand, but that's exactly what I wanted. For some reason, the white gold looks almost yellow sometimes and people ask if I went to A&M. -
I'm with KRAM. JD is smarter than we think. I would have loved to see him hang around here, but good riddance. Not worth my $125M or $25M per year. That's insane money for a guy that hit 1 HR in the world series. People said that we were going to be sorry we let CJ go too. He didn't really bite us either last year. We just beat ourselves at the end of last year. Good luck, and I hope he doesn't have a career ending injury in Spring Training.

Interesting scenario as I've managed many retail locations in my past lives. I have taken over good stores and crappy stores. All stores that I have managed have been better when I left than when I started. However, building a new culture in a store, doing well or not, takes time. The store's profits may have been through the roof when I got there, but I still had plenty of housekeeping to do. I had to re-program plenty of good employees, bring in good assistant managers, promote some mediocre employees to customer, and build my new culture. It took time, but my DM's always new that the turnaround would come. This lengthy turnaround is exasperated because Christmas shopping season is nye upon us, aka TM is going pro next year.Still it took me time to achieve my goals as it will take time for TB to get this ship righted with his own culture in place. aww to hell with it, FIRE HIM NOW!!

i had that we win by 14, but then changed it for a nice number of 15. Damn, I should have stuck with 14 and then I would be seen as a prophet of sorts. -

fire Johnny Jones right now!!! -
I watched the heck outta that movie as a kid. It just always stuck with me. That really is a pretty obscure stat that he was looking for praise on. Kinda like saying, "2 winning records, at home, in 2 years". IMHO

back to back home winning seasons. I like seeing victories in person, but seems to be a little hollow to be considered an accolade. I'm optimistic, happy that things are better than Dodge days, hopeful for where we are going, but I'm not going to dig to give praise. let us not forget what the great Tom Selleck taught us in Mr Baseball: Jack Eliot: I'm a World Series MVP! Skip: That was four years ago, Jack. Trey: You hit .235 Last season. Jack Eliot: LAST SEASON, I led this team in ninth-inning doubles in the month of August!=hollow accolade

Give me your ideas. please? My wife and I go to the Embassy Suites for a weekend night just to get away once a month or so. $100 per night gets us a free 2 hour binge drinking session with premium beers and liquors, a shuttle to whichever local restaurant we would like to be dropped off curbside, pick up from restaurant back to hotel, an indoor pool and hot tub, and then cooked to order breakfast in the morning. link below http://embassysuites...TXES/index.html I feel like this is a pretty awesome value, and it's close. When we drive out of the parking garage, which is free parking, we see the daylight and feel like we've been gone for a few nights and not just one. It's a very refreshing staycation. We have stayed at the B&B in Denton twice. That was nice, but we got violently ill with a stomach bug last time. So, through no fault of their own, we have that lasting impression of the place. link beolw http://www.theheritageinns.com/ Any input on close, nice, fun, cheap-ish, overnight getaways around here??

BTW, that was kind of a negative "suggestion". If you think it will be too crowded and not fun then don't come. That's just my opinion.

I'm pretty sure I'm in.

I specifically recall a comment made by him and his father that said he "only" got offers from a few small schools like UNT. So, he was going to a prep school to boost his stock. No thanks little NEON! Not welcome here. link to original conversatioin On the recruiting trail Sanders Jr. is reporting offers from North Texas and Houston and that list has stayed pretty consistent since the last time he updated things with Scout.com in the state playoffs. "Same thing, same as last time," Sanders Jr. Informed. "I hope something opens up, but if not I have to take a hard look at the two I have and I am going to make the best out of it." "I have been to a North Texas game. I have been to Houston. I have been to one of their camps. Both are pretty good schools."
