That is really nice to hear Go Mean Green

Exactly.....!!! That would be great for North Texas and the City of Denton.

Who is to say that Canales wouldnt be the OC for Leavitt? I dont know, your guess is as good as mine. Leavitt hired him twice so they must get along. That is a possibility too, reunited again for a 3rd time. The Canales Clan... I will add that to the list next time. All i want is North Texas to win... Nothing more or less. Just to Win!!

I agree.... One other man that was a part of that building nothing to a BCS team was Canales. He was the OC there twice, for a total of 8 years with Leavitt. He and Leavitt, together put time into those trailers everyone talks about. Of all Assistants that worked under Leavitt during his USF time was Canales has the most time of all with Leavitt at USF. I agree that having Leavitt interested in the Job is great, a BCS head conference coach conference coach is very exciting for UNT. We all should be excited, there have been rays of sunshine come out of the storm in the last few years. A new Athletic Facility and an incredible stadium. If that doesn't make you excited then I don't know what will. Some of you forget that Leavitt was not only fired for the incident, Dont be so gullible. Leavitt sent 25+ Players to the NFL, including a Lottery Pick last year. USF was always ranked high with great expectations preseason and early season.and started the first 6 games of the season winning 6-0 multiple times, Ranked in the top 25, Top 10, and even Top 3. But the last 6 games of the season went down the drain every year. They were never in the running to win the conference in the Big East at the end of the season, and always ended up in a mediocre bowl game. They were expected to win the weakest auto bid conference in BCS being in a talent infested state of Florida and never came close. USF needed to get some of that BCS $$$$$$, and never did. I am not saying that what Leavitt did with USF and putting them on the map of college football wasn't an amazing accomplishment, it was. All of you are so caught up in just that fact a BCS head coach is interested in coming to Denton and forgetting the rest of the baggage. Lets see what Canales can do in the next 5 weeks. He has dealt with a lot this year, losing 14 offensive players to Injuries. Those players were the ones that got the reps in Spring to learn the new Canales offense, not the 3rd and 4th string guys. He has had to teach these guys midweek, midseason to compete. Aside from the Army, FIU game we have competed in every game, even @ Clemson. It isnt about Wins and Losses in 2010 anymore, it is how these kids play. Do we seem the same penalties, do we see blow outs, or the kids to just give up and look to 2011 and the new stadium. Doesnt seem fair to the Seniors on the team to me. Am I a Canales fan? That is pretty obvious, I am. Do I know Canales No! Do I know people that know Canales...Yes. Those people and former players and parents of those players that say good things about Canales and I like what I hear. I am a UNT Grad like some of you, and i paid my tuition at that school just like you. Is being a Canales fan and me cheering for the guy I have heard good things about make me not a "True Mean Grean" Fan? Or not worthy to be in the cool group on these boards? We should be rallying, not dividing. Lets support these seniors... All those losses throughout their career might be covered from good memories of winning some games. What a great way to get people excited about 2011 if we can win some games this season!! Mock me as you want, Call me Ms. Canales, or Canales agent, or whatever you may. I just say lets support him, the AD, the President trust this man to drive the ship the rest of the year. That should mean something to us. Lets see what happens, if something good happens then good...if not we get a new stadium a new HC next year which is good also. Go Mean Green!!

Source: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/322375-jim-leavitt-struck-player-lied-and-interfered-investigation-concludes The internal-external investigation conducted by the University of South Florida documents that per witnesses, Jim Leavitt did indeed grab player Joel Miller by the throat and hit him twice at halftime of the Louisville game last November. In addition, the report said that Leavitt lied about it to the investigators and also interfered with the investigation. Here are excerpts from the cover letter that was presented to Leavitt on Friday morning when he was notified that he was terminated from his position as head football coach at USF: "As is presented in more detail in the report it was alleged that you inappropriately grabbed the throat and slapped the face of a student athlete. The report concluded that this allegation was accurate based on independently corroborated statements of persons found to be in the best position to observe your conduct. The disparity in authority and power between you as head coach and the student athlete makes your conduct more serious. "Your repeated denials of this conduct are noted, however, as indicated in the report, your description of your conduct toward the student athlete in question was consistently uncorroborated by credible witnesses, and in fact contradicted by a number of credible witnesses found to be in the best position to observe your conduct. USF is forced to conclude that your statements to the reviewers are not credible given the consistent lack of corroboration and frequent contradictions between your version of the events in question and those of credible witnesses. USF's conclusion as to the credibility of the statements you made to the reviewers makes your conduct all the more serious." The final sentence of the letter to Leavitt reads: "This is an unfortunate outcome reached after a thorough and fair review, careful consideration of that review and direct consultation with President Genshaft." It was signed by Doug Woolard, the USF Athletic Director. In the report itself, there is the testimony of one of the eyewitnesses, a USF player, referred to as "Student Athlete B." It reads: "Student Athlete B described the event quite differently. His locker was located on a wall that was perpendicular to the wall on which Student Athlete A's locker was located. From his vantage point, he was able to see the entire encounter. Student Athlete B related that Student Athlete A was looking up at Leavitt as he came toward him (walking very fast) and that Leavitt grabbed Student Athlete A by his throat using his right hand and then struck Student Athlete A's head twice with an open hand. Student Athlete B told the reviewers that he knew he had witnessed a crime and knew what he saw was wrong. He indicated he felt betrayed and that the values and standards that had been taught to them had been violated. Student Athlete B also report to the reviewers that he hasn't been able to eat or sleep due to the stress of what he witnessed (which he categorized as an "assault"). Student Athlete B was very much affected by the encounter, so much so that in the week which followed he absented himself from his position meeting and went to Leavitt's office. Student Athlete B told Leavitt that he saw what happened and needed to hear directly from the Coach. He related that Leavitt responded to his question about the incident by saying that he "wasn't wrong" and that he grabbed Student Athlete A by the shoulder pads and said only "good, positive things" to Student Athlete A. Student Athlete B also says that Leavitt said he was "fighting for (his) job." Student Athlete B also said that Leavitt told him, "you of all people (Student Athlete . You're the last person I would have thought would have come and questioned me." Student Athlete B related that the event was the topic of much discussion in the locker room and that other players told Student Athlete B that they had also seen it. He also indicated that "they felt threatened. Felt they could be next." The report confirms what Fanhouse writer Brett McMurphy revealed in his Dec. 14 story. Leavitt had continually denied all the reports in that story. The investigation confirms it. It's done. It happened. Jim Leavitt, in plains terms, assaulted one of his players. And he lied about it and attempted to interfer with the investigation. Leavitt is gone as of Friday and USF will seek to heal itself from this final sad chapter of his coaching tenure.

Canales leading the group dancing and celebrating a Win... Now lets go do it again this weekend!! GMG!!
-
Will this Saturday's Game be televised? If so where? Thanks, Go Mean Green!!
-
Lets not forget that Canales and the Offensive Staff wins on the road 21 Points, with QB#3 and 10 offensive Players out..... That says a lot about these coaches. The Gamaplan Preperation Execution And Most Importantly Making these Kids Believe they could Win on the Road and in Conference. Great Win... Now lets remember how this feeling feels... To Win.... Go Mean Green!!!
-
@ Clemson compares to Ball State and Ohio? I dont think so... That is my point.
-
Cant do much with 10 Offensive Injuries....
-
We now have 10, I repeat 10 Offensive Players done for the year. TE Connor Gil-Martin is done for the season. Not really fair to ask a new OC (Canales) to turn things around when you have 10 Offensive Players done for the year. I am going to judge Canales off of the first 2 Games of the season, that is it. @ Clemson 400+Yards TTL offense, TOP 40+ Minutes. 10 Points Vs. Rice 400+Yards TTL Offense, 31 Points. That is pretty good numbers for a New OC. 10 OFFENSVE PLAYERS OUT FOR THE YEAR!!!
-
Circumstances were: 7 Offensive Starters out in first 3 Games. Now lets get specific: QB #1 & 2 Out for Season Center #1 & 2 Out for Season Multiple Receivers out for year. Head Coach Rumors all week about him getting fired. Hard for a team to stay focused when they know it is coming. Playing on the road. Not Excuses, those are just facts.
-
Agreed.... Give it To Canales
-
Pretty Obvious that looked nothing like the Offense that was ran vs. Clemson and Rice. Riley doesnt know the Offense as a QB under Canales. Offense looked the same as last year once Tune went down vs. Rice. Just look at the difference in play calling vs. Clemson and today. We had 200+ Yards Rushing vs. Clemson.

Possible to make Canales new Head Coach, at least for the remainder of the year. You would think that RV would have to make some changes soon. I looked into Canales and this is what I found. Canales Bio: Positives: Graduate Assistant at BYU Under Lavell Edwards.1st OC as USF when the started a football program under Jim Leavitt, Coach Snyder Tree. It is hard to believe that USF has only had football 15 years. So he knows how to get programs off the ground and going, USF is Top 40 Team. Coached at NC State under Chuck Amato, Bobby Bowden Tree. He coached Phillip Rivers for 3 Years. Receivers Coach for the Jets under Herm Edwards. Then Went to Arizona Under Mike Stoops, who is under Bob Stoops/Coach Spurrier Tree. 400+Yds TTL yards @ Clemson 400+ yards TTL yards & 31 Points vs. Rice. Negatives: Up until Arizona he was very successful, Arizona was not so good, offense really struggled. Arizona had just come off of Probation and were dealing with previous HC players. His last year at Arizona they Lost Starting QB Willy Tuitama to injury, and then his back up for the 2nd half of the season and had to play with 3rd string. Went to USF and last year, IT was his 1st year as the OC after being promoted from the Receivers Coach. Very early in the season lost starting QB Matt Groethe to Injury. Had to play with Freshman BJ Daniels. Then Leavvitt Controversy, and Holtz brought in his own Coordinators and let go of Canales in February. O Points vs. Army. So far it is hard to see what Canales is capable of here at UNT. He has lost 7 Offensive Starters for the Year by the end of his 3rd game. Inclding 1st and 2nd string QB & Center. 3 WR's, and a O lineman. I dont care who the OC is, you can caount on struggling losing that many people so quickly. I think Canales should be given the job for the remainder of the year. See what he is about, if it doesnt work, then look elsewhere. Go Mean Grean!!
